In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

Call them, just like you would have in the pre-Internet days, and explain what happened: 1-800-SUN-TRUST. Or start the new account process over again from the beginning, assuming you did not enter the funding information before the website timed out.

Or, if it's more convenient, try the online chat method, which is what I did. Note that it only works M-F 8am-6:30pm.

Wrong--I'm right. Kind of.
You CAN order this card on an existing personal and/or business account. I know, I did it--when I walked into my bank it was offered to me, I didn't even have to ask. There was a greeter at the door asking customers if they wanted to avail themselves of this new offer. You don't have to be a new customer.
What you have to do, though, is change out of the Standard checking account and into the Balanced (or higher tier) plan, like you said. Those are the plans that have the higher minimums. I had to do that, upgrade my account category. However, my card and checks have the same account number as my previous, lower tier account category. But my card looks different, as does the balance in my account--it's higher than it used to be, because it has a higher minimum requirement.

account closed
My account was alos closed today. I signed up online, because I am ill & it is just easier that way. I live in Florida. They took the deposit out of my bank account & then closed the account the next day. I will go to the branch next time I am able to get out. Hoping the return of my funds will be as quick as the transfer was!

I just withdrew the funds from my PayPal account into the new ST account and am waiting for the transfer to go through before calling and verifying that this counts. Believe me, I'll happily report the results either way as soon as I know. I'm dying to figure this obstacle out..

After using the online chat, the rep told me that the Business and Personal Offers cannot be combined using the same DL number...has anyone else been told this? This was for signing up for each individually not the combined Total Business Account

As an FYI, I signed up for an account even before the 30K offer as I was interested in the Skymiles debit card. I live in a non Sun Trust state, no Suntrust within 1000 miles, and had no problem getting the account through chat. After the offer went public, I was able to set up direct deposit and was assured by Suntrust I will get the 30K points of this personal account. I do not plan to do the business. Points have yet to post, but I am hoping they will on this next statement; closes in early June. I will update the thread when I know more.

Business account
Just opened a business account at my local ST. Not sure if this was mentioned in the previous posts, but to waive the monthly fees a min. of 4k is required in your account. The prcocess took much longer than I expected, only because I didn't have my ein document handy.

Flew in and visited local branch. Rep said I needed a continual direct deposit so I will need to read through the t&cs a bit more. She did say I could defer partial checks. Didn't seem to have any issue with my up north location though.

Were you also able to open a personal account? Has anyone tried to use their SSN as the EIN for a sole-proprietorship (like when applying for a Business CC)?
