I have the application open in another tab but can't bring myself to submit it because I only just got the Marriott card (applied on 3/1).
Plus Chase will pull Experian, and while I have no inquiries at all on TransUnion and only one on Equifax (due to fall off soon), I have 12 on Experian.. only a couple of them from the past six months, but still I hate to add another one.

Blargh.
I have the exact same problem where I live. It's all about Experian. I got real lucky with Chase last week. I applied for a card and got the "requires further review" message. So next day I call and I'm told my application was auto-denied because I already have a similar Chase product. After we got beyond that (false) fact, the nice rep informed me the system never pulled a CR for me since the app was auto-denied for "similar product" and that she will need to pull a copy to be able to process my app. Low-and-behold she pulls TU and it was a double-win for me! Obviously I couldn't explain to her why she really, really made my day.
Few more weeks and I will get this. I will have like 4 inquiries coming off my credit report......
I find this to be awesome timing too. I learned that my 110k AA miles are very valuable in regards to round the world awards. So that ties up those 110k valuable AA miles, but my 110k less valuable BA avios will take care of my domestic airfare needs on AA.
Followed precisely the guide (on Firefox (no add-on) and IE) "Go to BA.com and do a dummy booking. Fill all the BS info as if you're purchasing the ticket. Hit submit and on the Step 5 (Payment) ... you'll see the offer."
Well, no offer for me. If somebody please post a screen shot at the final page where they see the offer, it would be great. Any other advice?
If I can get this to work, i will test it (for me and everyone else) if the offer is valid for previous card owners...

How much is your ticket value? It has to be below $2K.
I got it show up multiple times with just a JFK-LHR ticket.

Try one way refundable, many have said this gets it to below $2k and shows up more consistently.
Before buyig a ticket keep in mind value of Avios depends on where use then to fly. BA and many european airlines charge very hefty fees (often around $500 on a Y ticket) to use miles to travel to europe. so miles value can be VERY limited.
more value using them with partners for travel to other continents

Or for short flights in the US to position yourself for cheaper travel. For short flights it only costs 4,500 or 7,500 Avios miles to get to an AA hub which could be having a fare sale instead of staying and paying a huge rate out of a little city.

Here's what happened to me, despite the fact that many people say you need to sign in your account first, every single time I tried doing that it wouldn't work for me. I finally tried with a different name, address, etc and saying that I am not a member and then it worked. Very weird, give it a try and let us know.
PS. I also had the Chase card before. Got it at the end of 2009.

Reason: more info

I tried that, but when got to cc app the fake name was embedded in the app. But . . . after about 15 times, clearing cache, rebooting, dif browsers, etc. I finally got the offer under my real name, using flexible/refundable OW NYC-LHR, saying I wasn't a member. No instant approval but I'm fairly confident (based on my credit history) that it will either be approved or I can go the reconsideration route.

Nice. I applied last Sunday and didn't get instant approval. Called the number (provided a few pages back) on Mon morning and spoke to a very helpful lady. She explained I was not auto-approved as I had recently opened the United MileagePlus (for the 50K miles already used on flights to Europe). With no prompting from me she offered to move half of the credit line from the new UA MP card to BA. She confirmed the 50K now and 50K next year. May use some of the points for flights from NYC > US Virgin Islands on AA as I did last year or keep them as we plan to move back to Scotland next year and you can get around a lot of Europe on 100K BA miles.
Oh and I should mention, I didn't need to book a flight. Logged into my Avios account and searched for a flight from Aberdeen (ABZ) to London Any and chose some random flights. Got to purchase screen and the offer was there. Closed everything after applying.

Finally got the offer after I used different browser (Chrome) and entering real name BUT not my FF number. Now will apply but I guess later will have to call chase to add the number to my account so there is no confusion.
