Can one apply for the business card if one does not have a business?
Wondering about the same thing. I only did the personal card last year and am wondering what hoops I can jump thru now that could validate a business application next month? Bank account? Something more?
This is great news! And fits into my churn schedule perfectly (last batch of apps was Dec. 15). I got into the miles game from CC signups just last April, so I missed out on this one. Thankfully since then I've gotten in on enough offers that I can easily get the match to 100k if it works the same as last year. This would be a great offer to recommend to friends/family but I doubt many of them have 100k banked up in a single program anywhere, which is not so great for the miles novice.
The tempo of gigantic (75k+) offers has definitely decreased in the past 5-6 months after the crazy spring/summer of last year. It's great to see some of the mammoth offers might be coming back.
As others have said though, there's still 12 or so 50k bonus cards out there, some of which are churnable (US Air, AA Biz, AA personal slow churn). But 100k is even better!

I think I'm going to get the EIN ball rolling. I remember reading on here that is was simple to do.
Probably worthwhile to grab a .pdf of both the MileagePlus and OnePass accounts before they get combined into a single account, no?
Yeah, and if you only have 100k between them, xfer all to Continental to get a screenshot of the 100k, then xfer to UA to get a screenshot of the 100k!
for the record, 4 family members tried this last year.
-- it was established could get a personal and a business card (if you had a SP) and get the bonuses on both. but both pulled all 3 credit bureaus.
-- in 2 cases a personal card was already out, but Cap One approved a 2nd personal card, and it got the bonus
-- in 1 of the cases above, not only was there a bonus on the new personal, but then the old personal was converted (option was available online once logged in), and THAT card got the bonus as well!
so, i'm going to be interested in how they're going to limit this to people who didn't get it last year, when clearly they didn't screen a "1 per SSN/TIN" last year.
Yes, there was a business version, I think Gleff was able to get 440,000 miles between him and his wife using personal and business. The catch was you needed two accounts with 100k miles. I'm not sure if you could use the same account this time as you used before.
This is incorrect. I got both cards and used the same AA account with over 100k in it.
Can someone explain how redemption works with these points or refer me to somewhere that I can understand it.
The points can be used to reimburse travel, so if you got the full 110k, thats $1100 in travel expenses you get taken off your statement. see http://www.capitaloneventure.com/redeem_easily.html for details.
