And then you need add if there's some offsetting factor, since at least one card (Chase PC Select Visa) that has an annual fee has no net annual fee. Ie, it has a $49 annual fee (waived the first year), but on each anniversary year they give you a free night voucher, and anyone who has need of a hotel card should presumably have no problems using such a voucher each year and thus recovering more than $49 of value from it.

I'm not familiar with the Hyatt and Marriott Premier cards (also from Chase) to know whether they have any similar offsetting factor (reducing or evaporating the net annual fee) or not.

It's not entirely clear how Chase will handle the CO Pres Plus card once CO is fully absorbed into the UA brand, but it's clear that the card is not going away any time soon. Indeed, UA Insider -- an official company rep -- recently posted some coming policy changes for the card in 2012, along with a note that there will be a comparable UA-branded card. Doesn't the Citi ThankYou Premier have a $125 annual fee (waived first year)?

A card with no foreign transaction fee does not do much good if it includes an annual fee...the only cards I consider foreign transaction fee free are those with no annual fee....how many of these are there?

So, if for $125 AF, you get CDW coverage on auto rental in places typically excluded (Italy, NZ, Jamaica, Isreal), 15% discount on flights, 25% discount on cash like flight award redemption, trip interruption coverage, along with no forex fees - this card would still not do much for you?

This is a rather stiff annual fee. However, one mitigating factor is the PRIMARY car rental coverage.
The only other card that I know of that offers that is Diners.
With my SPG Amex card, primary car rental coverage is available at $24.95 per rental.
Final mitigating factor: Absence of a foreign exchange fee won't help much if a magnetic strip card isn't accepted overseas, and this is increasingly common.

Interesting point about the primary car rental insurance that was provided by Diners for years......for some reason, and I renmember this well, it wasn't available to New Yorki State residents because of some quirk iun New York State insurance law. I wonder if that still holds.

If you wish to group the cards by issuer, be aware that this card is issued by Chase (the full name of the company is JP Morgan Chase). The card has Chip & Signature which is a specific method of transaction authorization. It also has a magnetic stripe which requires a signature, same as every other card issued in the USA.

Two posts discussing acceptance of magnetic stripe cards outside the USA have been transferred to the established thread on that topic:

Added. If anyone knows any other freebies like this, let me know and I will add.

I went ahead and updated the fee info for all the cards, and added "mitigating bonuses". I didn't include any info about sign-up bonuses, since they change a lot. Thanks for all the input everyone. Any other ideas, please post!
