This looks like a thread that could be useful if FTers would provide specific feedback on their real-world experiences. I personally have never used these benefits before but will soon be filing claims with Amex (SPG card) and Chase (BA card) for extended warranty coverage for broken fitbits. Will report back. Also filing a price protection claim with JPM Palladium card.
Addendum: Just filed extended warranty claims. Amex took all of 5 minutes by phone, no hassle. Chase directed me to the Visa Card Benefit Services Website where I was asked to upload 4 documents including original invoice, visa card statement, warranty and repair estimate (this last item is impossible as fitbit doesn't do repairs). Also asked for a serial number that does not exist. Needless to say Amex is the no hassle winner at this point.
7-day Update: Amex sent email requesting a copy of Amazon receipt, with a link to upload (no login or other nonsense required). Done. Visa Benefit sent an email requesting that we send - at our expense - the broken fitbit for analysis. Interestingly there is no reference to this request when you check the claim status so you are SOL if you lose the email. Printing fedex label now...
21-day Update] Visa Benefit sent email requesting a copy of the receipt for the new fitbit (not clear why this was not requested initially or with the last email).
