We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus
Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]
There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived
Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)
Older 35K Link (older link not working)
Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)
1) I applied for this card but got the message
Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/
At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.
2) What's the reconsideration line number?
866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.
3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.
4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.
5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?
The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.
AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.
Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

depends on your TU score & how many pulls on TU among other factors. also keep in mind B* for EQ/TU (search creditboards.com) as an option.

What WSJ article? Where on FT? That sounds contradictory to stuff being discussed in the AA/US forum, where it's talking about press releases estimating Q4 2014 or Q1 2015 for the FFPs to be combined. (It may be an earlier date for cross-earning and cross-redeeming, it may be an earlier date for linking and transferring, but actually combining is about a year off at least.)
There are many many steps to a merger, even just in the FFP aspects of the merger, and you can't understand what's going to happen if you don't understand the multiple steps.
Before asking for "more intel", please get your original intel straight!

Reading back, seems most people have NO trouble if have no open cards (including myself getting instant approval last week with no other US Air cards open).
Having 1 card open also seems to be ok with many approvals and some denials. Most seems to have trouble if have 2 cards open, but a few seem to get apps thru anyway but this seems rare and an exception. So based on the trend, trying for 3 open cards may not be always possible and most likely result in a wasted hard pull.
Think it best to close one card and then try again later.

My annual fee is also going to post 12/31. Called about a fee waiver but no dice. I may call after it posts to see if I can get it waived then.
I have a question though: I spent the 25k to get the 10k miles converted as well as the award fee waived for the next 12 months. If I cancel the card do I still the the fee waived or do I have to keep the account open to get this benefit? Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer!

I read through the thread again and don't see an answer anywhere, sorry if I'm somehow missing it.
The comments above appear to be about canceling after the 10k anniversary miles post but before the annual fee posts. I'm referring to the award fee waiver that you get for 12 months after spending $25k on the card in a calendar year. I'm not sure if the card has to remain open to continue receiving the award fee waiver or if I can cancel and still receive the waiver on award bookings until the 12 month period is over.

I applied for my 2nd US air card a few days ago and got denied
(last app was 11 months ago)
I had just cancelled my Barclay NFL card a few days before applying.
Reason for denial was that I already have adequate credit from them already.
I am guessing the 1 us and 1 nfl card (even though I cancelled) was to much for them to approve the 2nd US card..
How long do I wait to try to apply for the 2nd US card again?
My Annual fee and bonus will be hitting in Jan. I have a statement closing Jan 3rd so I am guessing my 10k annual miles bonus will be on that
On my annual fee letter that I got today it says closing my account **may** forfeit any miles I have on my account at the time of closing.... Not sure if this is just a scare tactic or what? As the USairways website seems to indicate you have 18months of no activity for your miles to expire? ....

As the USairways website seems to indicate you have 18months of no activity for your miles to expire?
If you don't have activity for 18 months, don't wait until the last minute to generate it. Give yourself at least a month.

This typically refers to miles earned, but not yet transferred to your FF account. it does not generally refer to miles already in your FF balance. You would have to do something egregious to get a 'clawback'
Yes. Activity can come from the CC, flights, points purchase or redemption. Since AA and US are merging, likely you want to keep an an eye out for any rules changes over the next 24 months as things settle out.
