We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus
Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]
There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived
Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)
Older 35K Link (older link not working)
Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)
1) I applied for this card but got the message
Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/
At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.
2) What's the reconsideration line number?
866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.
3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.
4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?
Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.
5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?
The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.
AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.
Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

applied for a second card (and the arrival card) after 6 months of no activity on 7/18 and was denied. Called reconsideration and was told too many cards (from different banks) opened last year, nothing to do with credit report. Oh well, I need to lay off on the AOR since both Chase and Barclay used the same reason to deny me.

Since it has been a full year since my last credit card app, and that was the Citi AA Visa for 50k miles and to anticipate the combining of US and AA I bit on a US Airways card. Found a link at the points guy and it has also been linked to in this thread earlier but it is the 35k after first purchase and first year annual fee waived version.
Since the annual fees of both my AA and US cards will be due in exactly another year at this time next year I can decide which card to keep and which to cancel, or even convert one if the post merger card has been announced.
35k is not the greatest but that will be enough to give me enough miles for a round trip in F on Qantas once we are able to combine miles. Biggest hurdle of course is finding both ways in F, I may have to settle for one way in F and the other in business which would be ok to me.

In USAir Q3 conference call, Doug Parker said:
[...] and I'm not going to give you much specifics because we're hot and heavy in negotiations with Barclays and Citi right now on the outcome of that. I would simply say that we are agnostic as to whether we have a single provider or dual providers. We care about the total economics that we think we can achieve. There's some advantages to having dual, but those come through in the economics. So if we have an offer that makes it compelling to go to a single, we will. And if it is more economically attractive to have 2, then we will have 2.

Interesting, geclub1 thanks for the share.
What do other people think about the possibility of dual providers going forward? I'm no expert but I feel like it would be a good thing to have more options and the perks that come with separate cards (though I'm sure they'll change the perks to be more compatible with each other). Do others feel the same?

Does anyone have any advice on getting a credit line increase from Barclay's on this card without a hard pull? Citi has often given me increases just based on loyalty without credit pulls. I don't have any cards with any banks with a CL <$8K, but my US Air card is $2500. I know they're stingy, but man...
They gave me a 0% 18-mo (01/01/15) BT offer with a 1% BT fee I'd love to take advantage of. I only plan to BT about $2K (large purchase going on a card to hit a minimum spend, then BT and pay the $20 fee), but I'd rather not have a card sitting at 80% utilization. I don't ever carry balances, but with a wedding coming up, expenses aren't what they typically are. If I have a single card at 80% utilization, but my overall utilization still well below 10%, would that adversely affect my credit? As mentioned, I never carry balances, so this is new territory for me :P

1. Bought 2 VRs (490 each) with my US Air card with 1k limit. I got an automated call from barclays that my limit has been bumped to 3k
2. Chase bumped my freedom limit from 7k to 9.5k as I got close to 6k.
3. Capital one denied me a CLI citing "Recent use of this account's existing credit line has been too low"
So I'd say the best course would be to charge up your card and see if they give you an auto CLI. I used to be scared of this as I dislike bringing attention to my accounts.

weird part is issuers often give you CLI if you are using more of your limit. This has happened to me a few times.

2nd card in July 2013 instantly approved.
Hoping to get a 3rd card in early 2014 if the card is still around.

(Citi only has one card that earns EQM, and it requires a $40k spend for 10k EQM, and has a $450 annual fee.)

Does this card still offer 10,000 miles on renewal? I've had the card for a year and nine months now and got the 10k bonus last year when I paid the annual fee. I just got a letter "re-disclosing" card benefits and it includes 10,000 miles toward preferred status if you spend 25k but no mention of the 10k anniversary bonus. I called in and the agent knew nothing about a 10k anniversary bonus.

I cancelled my first card in June 2011
Got my 2nd ( and currently open ) card Feb 2013
I wonder if I could get a 2nd card now or maybe in a month or 2
