We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus

Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]

There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived

Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)
Older 35K Link (older link not working)
Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)

1) I applied for this card but got the message
We apologize for the inconvenience, but our website is experiencing technical issues.
Please contact us at 1-866-419-6437 or try again later.
What does this mean? What should I do?

Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/

At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.

2) What's the reconsideration line number?

866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.

3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.

4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.

5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?

The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.

AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.

Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

The fee is 3%. That means $300 to earn 10k miles. Are you certain you can get 3 cents/mile value when redeeming them?

Regardless, US runs 100% bonus promotions frequently on buying or sharing miles. When covered by one of those promotions, you can buy the miles for about 2 cents each outright, or coordinate with a travel partner to earn 10k miles on a sharing transaction for only about 1.2 cents each...

The BT offer is a terrible deal.
I appreciate the input and generally agree, but I happen to currently have a large balance on a high APR card that I need to transfer in order to save on interest as I pay it off over the next 12ish months.

Given that, I'd certainly prefer to earn miles for the transfer than earn nothing, and with the 15 month 0% offer with a 3% fee that this card currently offers, it's making the best of a non-ideal situation (and before someone suggests it, I have indeed looked into the various other 0% offers out there, and this one makes the most sense for my situation).

Do not use this card.
Totally agree - my only current plans for the card are the 40k signup bonus and the BT, as I explained in my previous post.

I don't know how much help anyone here will be, unfortunately. Not a lot of experience out there in this area.

Depending on the interest rate you're paying, it might be worth risking the pull anyway.

Just noticed that they pulled both Experian and Transunion for me. I'm in NJ

Fair enough.

To close the loop, I ended up trying the previously known credit analyst number again today and got through. They were able to do a slight increase, but not up to where I wanted it unfortunately. I tried to get somewhere in the conversation and pointed out my long history and perfect payment history with no negatives, but lack of history with Barclays and significant existing balances doomed me to a low limit. It seems like a bit of a Catch-22 that the people who actually want to do a BT (ie people like me with other balances) are not given the credit to do so, but so it goes.

Oh well, can't win them all. Just beginning my foray into miles and points so happy to have at least gotten the 40k and partial BT offer. Once I've tidied up some of these balances I'll start going into cards like CSP etc.

As I recall, the current offer for the Thank You Premier card has 0% on purchases for 12 months. Look for the thread over in the Other Credit Cards forum.

Please let us know if you end up seeing an additional credit pull from your call. Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up - I think I'm going to pass on the TY Premier for now since I can handle the rest of the BT with another card I already have and I'm trying to stick with just the USAirways card TU pull for now so that in a month or two I can go for my first real app-o-rama (on a related note - any suggestions of signup bonus cards that you can get approved for with significant existing balances with other issuers? Credit is otherwise excellent).

In regards to your other question - I was promised that no additional pull would occur when I called Barclays, but a second inquiry did indeed show up per Credit Karma. I called to complain and it's being investigated for removal.

I wouldn't worry about that extra pull on Transunion. Barclays is the only issuer that pulls Transunion (other than Crap One which pulls all 3 agencies - your ability to get approved by them will be more influenced by what they see on Experian or Equifax, not that anyone in their right mind would want to apply for a card from Crap One).

Found out, after cancelling both our cards, that my wife wants to send her parents to England during the low miles Jan15-28 timeframe, so I'm going to sign up for this card after cancelling it 10 days ago. Got the pending message, so will let everyone know how the call goes in the next couple days.

I got the 10,000 annual bonus on my statement about 2 weeks before my annual fee was due to hit! I cancelled a couple of days later. In conclusion this card got me 50,000 miles with almost no spend and no annual fee paid. ^

Same here. Go the annual fee a few days before hand. Spent about $3 on the card and got 50k miles. Applied today and will call tomorrow to get it approved.

Data point time: I applied for the USAir Card on 10/25/2011. I cancelled it a few weeks ago, before the annual fee was charged. I applied again today, 10/13/2012 and received instant approval, 10k credit limit.

It depends on the state. For me in Utah, Citi also pulls Transunion.
