50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

Has anyone had luck cycling credit limits several times a month with CapOne? Reports on this are hard to come by.

2/13 update: Decided to give recon a shot. After emailing the CEO (another forum recommended doing this instead of calling), I got a call from the executive office saying they will submit my app for manual review, which will take 7-10 business days.

Would like to apply for either the Venture or the VentureOne with no AF (leaning towards the full-on version with AF though). I've never been denied for a CC in my life, and I've never not been instantly approved, either. These reports of 3 hard pulls at once and folks with high FICOs being turned down have me worried. I'd rather not blow 3 hard pulls and be denied, obviously, for a card that's not even that great. I am seeking more cash-back options for spend like the Barclay, though - moving away from co-branded cards at the moment.

My FICO is 811. Credit Karma Transunion is 817 and Credit Karma Equifax is 792. I have four open Chase cards, an open SPG Amex, and a recently opened (as in three weeks ago) Barclay Arrival (not plus).

Given this limited information, I beseech the wisdom of Flyertalk: do I even waste my time on this card and the possible denial (and three hard pulls which I don't need)?

Applied without closing my existing card. No instant approval; 7-10 days for a decision. Sigh.

Capital One question

I returned to using my capital one card thinking I could be more flexible in my travel spending. I would like to go to Europe but after tens of thousands of dollars in purchases, I get $700 to spend. It seems kind of small. Is there anything out there that's a better Visa card in anyone's opinion?

Yes, I know that card has other benefits but this might not be the visa for me.

Capital One question

Interesting. Both the Capital One Venture card and small business card offer 2 points per dollar spent on every purchase. If you have thousands in spend you can do the math. And the points post very quickly. Perhaps you should review the card you have and those offered and request a different card if that's indeed the issue. Something doesn't sene right, though, if you have thousands in spend and hundreds in points, regardless of the card you have. Good luck.

Curious to see if you get a second card. I'd love to get another card/bonus; hoping march madness brings out an increase.

Question Spark vs. Venture

What's the general impression or hard data points: Is it easier to get approved for Spark Business (sole owner) or Venture card?

I phoned (before the letter came) and was told to send in proof of income, which I did today. IIRC, I had to do that for the first one too. I'm assuming that I'll be approved, otherwise why bother to verify my income?

My annual fee is on my current statement for the first one. If I can get all my autopays changed to other cards before the due date I'll be cancelling.

Venture app denied. FICO north of 800, long history with CapOne, and at most 8-9 CC apps in past 12 months (and 3 in past 6). Called recon, asked for a review of the app, put on hold for a few minutes, only to learn my app will be resubmitted. Did not get the warm fuzzies from professional and cordial rep (i.e., I don't think they really want my business).

Will report back if decision gets reversed.
