50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

So here's what I'd like to know in determining how to use the new card in order to meet the min. for the sign up bonus:

1) What constitutes a travel purchase? Is it strictly hotels and flights? What about travel services; tours, foreign transit, etc?

2) What time window do I have to redeem expenses for travel purchases? If I were to strategically charge certain travel related bookings to my new card, would I then be able to redeem against those charges 3-4 months down the line when all of the points are posted to my account? Is there a time limit or restriction on when you can request a redemption for 2% of past travel related purchases?

Thanks very much!
I never got an answer to this but I wanted to add that I just booked travel through an Italian broker and the charge went through PayPal. What's the procedure, in a case like this, for crediting a travel purchase which posts ambiguously; i.e. PAYPAL *CMVTAXIBOAT CMVTAXIBOAT.?

I was just instantly denied for the Venture card. 795 Fico 2 apps in last 4 months with other banks all approved.

Last year I enjoyed the Sparks cash Biz card and closed acct Oct '15 . Last week I made a bonehead move I reapplied for the Sparks cash biz card again. I thought that last years card was the Sparks cash personal card! Doh! There is no such thing! Unsurprisingly I got a "we'll let you know" response from their server.
Anyway, I guess they don't like me anymore, hence the Venture denial.

EDIT: DATA point!!!

WOW! Just checked my e mail and I've been approved for a new Sparks cash biz card! E mail approval states I'll receive $500 Bonus 2% back etc. I'm shocked as I opened the identical card 5/15 and closed it 10/15 after sticking $7k on the card. Maybe they liked that I kept spending after the $4500 minimum spend.

I downgraded the card the day before the AF posted but CO is refusing to refund the AF. Anyone have that issue?

Probably a smart plan since you're taking 3 HPs each time. Besides that, no huge loss. This is an overrated card, IMO, beyond the bonus.

I've had similar experience with other banks, not just Cap1 for beginning transactions. Start with smaller transactions in first few weeks.

I didn't find any recent purchase eraser for airbnb.

Does airbnb still count as travel?

How long to wait before re-applying for the Venture One card after cancelling it? I was thinking of re-applying and trying the 2 browser trick to get 2 cards / 2 bonuses. I see from previous people in this thread that they have received 2 cards on the same day.

Is there a retention thread? If not how do you get the annual fee waived?

Try secure chat after you login. I did this a couple of months ago and received my second year annual fee waived. I only charge around a dollar a month.

Oh, I also got approvals with Experian frozen.

Edit: Wow. I just checked my Cap1 account online. Both cards are on there with different numbers - each $15K CL! So I think I'm good for the bonuses! YES!!!!
How did this play out? Did you get both bonuses?

what are all of yours opinion on rolling the cl per month? If i have 10k cl, and they think i make 32k a year, do you think it would be wise to roll the cl 3 times per month?

What am I missing with the Spark Miles vs. Spark Cash card? Why would you want to redeem for miles (which are basically just cash, but only on travel) instead of cash in this case? Surely there isn't a totally separate card just so you can choose to have what you can spend the cash rewards on restricted to only certain categories, or is there?
