Best Visa or Mastercard for Hotel Program

Hello - I have a ton of student debt and just learned that one of my vendors will take Visa/Mastercard. I'm a starwood person and am wondering if there's a Visa or Mastercard that can help me build my point bank. If not, what's the best deal out there right now for hotel or air?

Thanks!

Welcome to FT, rpalmer03. May your stay with us be beneficial.

The most praised card for hotel points seems to be the SPG AMEX. Search this forum and the Starwood Preferred Guest forum for lots of good info. If your vendor won't take AMEX I'd look at a card offered by your favorite hotel/airline.
