Booking inventory for using UA RPUs on Copa
Anyone know what is the booking code needed for an upgrade on Copa when using a UA RPU? Does Copa use R class or something else? I seem to recall, in the past, that it was actually something like A class.

I am flying YYZ-PTY-SJO and SJO-PTY-YYZ. I bought my ticket about 2 mths ago and have had an alert set up on EF for Z space since I bought my ticket. Outbound is tomorrow and return in about a week.
There has been no Z availability even though the biz class cabin is empty. (I know seat map doesn't reflect true availability, but let's assume it's close.)
YYZ-PTY 2 seats taken out of 16
PTY-SJO 4 seats taken out of 12
SJO-PTY 0 seats taken out of 10
PTY-YYZ 3 seats taken out of 16
I have 2 UA RPUs that I would really like to use. Does CM have a preference to fly empty rather than let people upgrade? It's not like their biz class product is so outstanding that they don't want to let people upgrade without paying for it. Anything I can do from my end? I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to upgrade at the airport.

PTY-SJO: Unsure what flight you are on (lots of them), but the 4:34 flight is 15/16 booked

I'm on CM164 at 15:24. So the cabin is less than half full. Is it normal for Copa to not open up Z space?
