I qualify on points so this does nothing for me.

I am certainly glad for the double EQMs and surprised. In fact, it's scary that CO has to make this offer.

Then why not jump over to AA for two and a half months; you should be able to hit EXP in that time!

It's a shame that I booked SEA-IAH-NRT-IAH-SEA in B for August and not March.

+1. I booked mine for July 4th... just crossing my fingers this offer gets extended for a little longer. It may happen depending on the SLF, don't you think so?

My upcoming $450 trip to AMS will now net me over 25kEQM. I can hardly believe it! I've also got a LOT more travel to book between now and the middle of June.

Since xyzzy closed the other thread, I'd like to transfer my doubts about whether it is a 50% or 100% bonus on discount economy fares here. (To make it personal, will his $450 AMS ticket will earn him 25K EQM or only around 19K, assuming it's in a cheapy fare class? ).

Some official CO interpretation of this would be nice.

The relevant discussion was on page 4 of the other thread (if you have 30 posts per page): AA Offers Double EQM, Will Continental?

If sub-500 mile segments will earn 1,000 EQM's, I will reach Platinum in July.

If not, I will reach Platinum in August.

Either way, I reach Platinum.

Wow, now I'm a little torn about what to do for the rest of the year. I will more than requalify for platinum based on booked travel alone.

Keep going or jump on the AA offer?

Go for AA, they need more EXPs, so my EXP friend can stop bugging me how he keeps getting upgraded.
