Maybe board ahead on Amtrak, but not on the commuters. Usually the train hasn't even finished pulling into the station before people are making their way to the platform. Apparently "passengers may not enter the platform area before their track number is posted" applies to everybody else. It's like gate lice times 1000.
As for the Club, spartan is better than the jam packed masses - I'll take a picture next time the the hell that is a delayed or cancelled MARC Penn line appears. Plus, after getting to work at 7am, all I want at 7pm is a quiet place to read.

Does PC Card work at Union Station too? I thought it worked only in New York. And can you board ahead of the crowd if you are in the Union Station Club Acela, or the other Club Acelas as well?

I've used my PC card to gain admission to the Amtrak clubs in DC, Philadelphia (complete with Tad! ) , NYC and Boston. In DC you can get past the initial ticket check by exiting via the side doors of the club. There are signs telling you not to do this for any trains but the Acelas, but I've never seen that enforced.

For anybody that got the card and did NOT have a PC membership prior, how long did you wait before your first attempt to enter a PC? I noticed that all you need is your OP# and ID if you haven't gotten your PC card yet, and I don't expect to get it by next Saturday. The upgrade was called in to Chase yesterday, I'm flying on the 18th, and am not in the mood to sit at a gate for 3 hours while my kid wants to run around. Gotta love those family rooms.

The PC location list at the CO site has all the different places you can go with your card (look for the blue dot in the last column). I like the way they set it up much better than most other airlines. Just keep in mind that sorting by country doesn't work very well.

Thanks - I know about the list. It was just not clear if an Amtrak ticket was needed or not.

I think it took about 2-3 weeks for my PC card to show up.
Do you have the credit card yet? If so, just walk up to the agent and tell them your OP# and your driver's license, they will let you in as you should be in the system already.

Once you're marked as a member in the CO system, just go to the club and they can look you up.

Bummer -- you didn't get to meet Tad

It took about a week for my MasterCard to arrive, and probably less than 2 weeks thereafter for my PC card to arrive. Before I applied for the card, I was assured by CO Insider that even if my PC card did not arrive, my membership would be in the computer once my application was approved.

You can check on continental.com. Try to purchase or renew your of membership. If you see an expiration date, you know it is in the system and they will be able to look it up at the pc. Not sure about nw/dl clubs.

I thin CO Insider was a little off, or there is some delay in the transfer. According to the Chase site, I have been converted to the PP, but looking at the renewal form yielded no expiration date.
Ah well, I don't need to worry unless we get to next Friday and I still haven't gotten my membership. Expecting things to happen instantly (or nearly so) will always be a dream until we can find a way to get computers around the world to connect and share data.
