I'm Elite Plat. and I was trying to decide if I should get the PC Club membership, or, to get the extra miles, get the PP cc.
I utilize the premium wine discount quite a lot. Also the bankable EQMs may be quite useful in the future., and the 25% bonus miles make this a no-brainer
Your first year will be $375 (same price as credit card). After that you'll still be paying $325 (for the PCM). Why not spend $50 more for the credit card bonus miles?
Also, you get a $75 credit towards the first year's fee, as soon as your account is set up.
I noticed an advertisement in the CO flight mag this week for the Presidential Card by Chase (which I have) ... and noticed that the benefits have changed.
It appears that they have added the "BusinessFirst 2 for 1" benefit ... or at least, I missed that when I obtained my card.
But more importantly, there is *NO* mention of the FLEX EQM miles for spending levels (ie: 2000 flex EQM for every $x,000 in spending).
And finally, I reviewed the brochure that came with my card, and I see that I earned 2000 flex EQM's for every $25,000 in spending with a limit of 28,000 EQM's per year. However, both the new card data and my online access (at Chase) shows that I earn 2000 EQM's for $15,000 in spending ...
Have there recently been changes to this card that I missed????
Is there any analysis of this card as a spending card? Owning this card gets a lot of perks, but I'm not sure you'd want to spend much with it. If you tend to fly short-haul like me, segments matter more than EQMs for elite qualification, so the EQM for $15k spending bonus becomes less valuable, and the points/dollar doesn't seem exceptional. Even with the points bonus would you want to charge tickets to this card, compared to a spending-oriented hotel card like an SPG Amex?
