As a matter of principle, I will not, nor will I never, pay $375/year for the "privilege" of holding a credit card.

You are not paying $375/year for a credit card - you are paying for a yearly membership in the PC plus a credit card.

Current Annual PC membership range from $425 (standard) to $400/$350/$325 (Silver/Gold/Plat). So you are actually getting a bargain PC membership if you are non-Elite or Silver.

You get a full PC annual PC membership card - and as CO Insider has pointed out the Chase PP card is the only one which actually gives you a full membership with a standard PC membership card.

If you have a LT PC Membership - the cost is only $100/year.

You need to determine whether this $100/year is worth the other benefits - like 25% mileage bonus for OnePass Elite, Avis Presidents feature, double miles on travel purchases, flex EQM, etc.

I negotiated the same, but with 20,000 bonus miles after the first year.

I reported in another thread - if you have a LT PC membership - you need to apply for a new card at the indicated number.

Calling the regular Chase World MC number for upgrade - they only know to upgrade to the $375 fee.

Other than having to apply from scratch - I am very satisfied with my new Chase World PP MC. The 25% bonus credited the first day I flew - no delay like the Extra Mile bonus. The new card arrived within 2 weeks and I have had no problems.

I love the Avis Presidents features - as I am now getting upgrade to a Premium or Luxury. Before as only AvisFirst - I was only upgraded to Full Size from Midsize.

Only issue is that Hyatt won't upgrade me to Plat status unless I have a stay - since I haven't stayed at a Hyatt in 3 years. But now that I am Marriott Platinum - I will be staying at Marriotts.

I had trouble myself trying to get the business card. Actually, it would be my second card since Scott helped me overcome my issues with getting the personal card for $100.

BTW, I don't know why I was unsuccessful at getting the $100 card for current lifetime President's club members. I'm sure it should have worked and they even offered it to me once before when I called in. I should have jumped on it back then but I was stupid and decided to try to convert my then-current old Continental Chase card.

I actually had a great Chase Executive get back to me after I was unable to apply for a new Chase CC due to the amount of credit cards I already have with them.

She was able to upgrade my old CO MC to the $100 LT PP MC in just a week!

When I first called to apply for the new PP card (since at that time upgrade of existing card was not an option) the agent told me that he will take my application but they were not issuing any new credit cards to anyone.

He said it would take about 2 weeks to get a decision. I did get a card - but they took some of the credit limit from the existing standard World card to cover the credit limit on the new card.

I just hit silver elite status, and noticed that some of my trips got the 25% extra RDM. I have not seen the other 25% post yet though. Does anyone know when those extra 25% for PPlus cardholders post?

Each flight in my account shows three lines:
1) Flight number, this shows base miles, and the silver bonus
2) The EQM bonus for booking on co.com
3) Presidential Plus 25% Elite Mileage Bonus

My PP bonus shows up the same time the flights post.

I'm Elite Plat. and I was trying to decide if I should get the PC Club membership, or, to get the extra miles, get the PP cc.

Your first year will be $375 (same price as credit card). After that you'll still be paying $325 (for the PCM). Why not spend $50 more for the credit card bonus miles?

Did you also keep your World MC, or close it? You could just combine the credit line w/the PP card, to have the full credit line on the one card.

I kept them both. My wife and I use the World MC and I use the PP. Maybe at the end of the first year I'll rethink.

Question Visa to Master Card Switch

Has anyone had experience getting their Continental Visa Card switched to the new President Plus Master Card. I would rather not open another card.

I had no problems upgrading my existing Continental Visa Signature card to a Presidential Plus MasterCard. I just called the customer service phone number on the back of my existing card.
