4 hrs in a RJ145
I have a project where I need to fly IAH-YYZ weekly for a few months. The direct flights are 3+ hrs up and almost 4 hrs down. Am I crazy but wasn't COExpress supposed to be regional short-haul and not international main line? 4 hrs in an RJ145 just doesn't appeal to me. Furthermore, some flights are at meal time so what are we going to eat? A bag of pretzels just doesn't cut it.

the other option is AC Jazz, a CRJ I believe! Which you want? Maybe going start CO can work a 737 into YYZ, or AC may can do something bigger and do a codeshare.
I spent almost 4 hours in a Saab 340 a couple weeks back, on the ground for most of it however.

I flew via CLE today and enjoyed a pretty decent omelette plate in FC IAH to CLE. My colleagues went direct on AC Jazz and almost missed their flight. AC had only 2 check-in people and you cannot OLCI on AC unless you bought your ticket on their website. We grumble but CO remains the best option out of IAH. But I can still grumble...

you seriously count on domestic flights for meals? might wanna grab something at the airport before your flight to last the 4 hrs.
Amazing the #4 and #7 North American markets don't have mainline service?!? I know IAH is oil and YYZ is Financial, but you gotta think the route warrents a daily 737 or E90?

If you're leaving IAH at a meal time, you'll probably get a sandwich with carrots or chips and a candy bar. Leaving YYZ you'll get a "snack basket" at meal times. Does that cut it? Anything beats a connection in my opinion.

Until just a year or so ago, one of the daily IAH-YYZ flights was a 735. And it was usually very empty in both cabins.
Having done this flight a number of times on the ERJ, I personally prefer 12A on an ERJ to any coach seat on the 737. Meals generally consist of the typical fried grilled chicken sandwich bomb or pretzels. I'd call the flight tolerable but not really pleasant.... At least with so few passengers, my evening arrivals have as many passengers as immigration clerks, so I arrive in the baggage hall ahead of the suitcases. Good luck!
EWR -OKC is "sweet" too. Usually a full plane. 3 1/2+ hours (depending on headwind) plus the inevitable 45 min traffic jam just to get in the air. The flight is so long the line for the restroom backs up to row 6.
