$150 to change itinerary as a GOLD elite member!

It is ridiculous and outrageous!!!
Last year they were only charging $35 as a silver elite member, and now they have increased it to such ungodly amount! what happened to the benefits of being part of the One Pass Frequent Flyer program?!!

The change fee was increased to $150 for all passengers - elite or not.

There are plenty of benefits. I think you'll find that $150 isn't out of line with what others charge...

If you want a ticket with no change fee,you can buy it..its usually a Y or H fare..

Don't be patronizing.

This change is among those Continental pushed through citing "high fuel prices." It was clever because, unlike the fuel surcharges that other airlines had implemented, CO's changes of course aren't retracted when the price of oil corrects. And by clever I mean sleazy.

I honestly don't understand all the kvetching. Continental's fee structure was long the most generous in the industry. Now it's up to par. Big whoop. It's done, and it's not changing.

Put on your big girl britches and get over it.

He must be talking about reward flights, it was not $35 to change a regular booking las year, elite or not .

This is the American way. It's not about what's fair, it's all about what A can can screw B for. A wise friend of mine told me many moons ago that this approach is inevitably self-defeating because everything is relative.

I disagree. Now CO's fee strucutre is among the least competitive in the industry.

They are the only ones to charge Plats for a close-in award booking, and they're the only carrier that does not waive standby or same-day confirmed fees for top tier.

You may be right about the award booking, but AA has always charged for same day confirmed fees for EXPs...
