Confused about transferring Onepass miles? Any options left?
I have 40,000 Continental Onepass miles from one business trip awhile back (before I started flying frequently or caring about accruing mileage in general) that I would like to transfer to my Air France Flying Blue account.
I only need 5,000 more for the trip I want to book with Air France, and to be this close to my dream 'free' airfare and have this lump of unused miles sitting in another account really drives me nuts!
I have seen the mileage converter link but I'm confused about the Amtrak situation and if it's still possible or not?? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
You can transfer Continental miles to Amtrak Guest Rewards in 5K blocks, 1:1, with no restrictions.
From Amtrak, you can transfer to HHonors (1:2) or Choice Privileges (1:3), but if and only if you have Select or SelectPlus status on Amtrak (limited to 50,000 AGR points transferred out per calendar year) or have the AGR credit card and have spent $200 or more on Amtrak travel on that card (limited to 25,000 AGR points transferred out per calendar year).
From HHonors, you can transfer to Air France, but it is a ratio of 10:1, giving you a total ratio of 5 Continental miles:1 Air France Flying Blue mile. That isn't very good.
From Choice, if you have had a Choice stay since 1/1/2006 or have earned miles from the Choice credit card since 1/1/2006, you may transfer points in 5,000:1,000 increments to a number of airlines. However, Air France is not a partner. (airline partners here: http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-...AirlineRewards)
There is a coupon connection forum on this site, but you need to have 100 posts (I believe) in order to post there. You could attempt to trade with someone.
Well you wouldn't believe this but I just found out that AirFrance Flying Blue is offering 5,000 free miles to any FB member that goes to a Renault dealer and test drives a specific car! It is limited to people registered in a few European countires. I hope there isn't a catch.
