You assume that Alaska Airlines had open gates when COInsider said that nothing was available. Not that CO refused to contact them because of political reasons. Why would you make a statement such as this, if you believed COInsider's explanation?
First of all, this is one statement, and doesn't equate to "refuse to believe anything..."
Second of all, COInsider never said nothing was available full stop. The fact that Alaska Airlines had open gates (and I know for a fact they did), is not contrary to what COInsider said (if taken literally). I do believe what COInsider said, asked for a clarification regarding Alaska Airlines, and did not receive one. I take that to mean that I correctly interpreted his statement to mean that no gates were open for which COA has existing arrangements.
Now how about you answering my question? I'm curious to hear your answer.
It should be obvious to you that COA is my favorite legacy carrier (as evidenced by my platinum status you can see in my profile).

As a result, there was no place to push the Continental aircraft occupying our gates. To compound this issue, airlines couldn't deice their aircraft fast enought to meet the deicing fluid FAA limits (30 minutes). Unfortunately, upon landing, there were no gates for us to use (or even rent), nor were there any pad locations.
I read the above statement to indicate that all gates were filled and every possible pad locations were also filled.
With regards to your question, as to how long you should have had to wait before being allowed off the plane in this situation: when it is safe to do so. If that means 2 plus hours, so be it.

I interpreted it differently...that all gates for which COA has an agreement were filled. You appear to have interpreted it incorrectly, as there were indeed gates open.

Please re-read my question. You are answering another question. Also, make the assumption that no matter what is done, it must be safe.

What are you talking about? Can you be more specific? Why do you find it necessary to mischaracterize my comments? I "refuse to believe anything he told me?" Where on earth did you get that idea? It boggles my mind.
Is this the other question that you would like me to answer?
I thought I did when I quoted COInsider as to "all gates and pads were full".
We disagree with that statement. You believe that it reads contracted gates and I think it says all gates.
