On another note, when will the annual OnePass Golf Tourney be? I went to the first one and had a ball (yeah I STUNK IT UP firing a 111 at Redstone (home of the SHO))... However, I want another chance to avenge that horrible day (hey I am shooting pretty well on the golf course these days!).
Now.... When is the freaking date for the IAH DO baby?

Many, many CO crew work and party on the weekend. As long as you're not out on a trip you're welcome to come hang out and enjoy a drink or two professionally.
Let preface my future statement by saying that I am honoroed that CO contiunes to invite the FT community to these events, it says a lot about the company as a whole.
However, I wonder, if CO has enough money to put on a shindig like this, than maybe they have enough money, to remove the first bag fee or maybe reverse the service cuts to FC Transcon catering?
If money is tight, maybe the cash would be better spend elsewhere than wining and dining us Fters?
Again, I mean no disrespect to Cigarman or CO (I admire both),

Dan,
I disagree. I would vote to increase bag fee for NON-ELITE'S so the ELITES can be wined and dined by CO. Just my opinion though.

My flying habits are certainly not up to the snuff of the rest of the board, so I guess a high post count and a winning personality will have to get me into the sim.
Mike, if I am lucky enough to get the sim tour (if there is one) Ill be happy to trade with you. We can work out details (tour Id like to go on) when the time comes.

The money spent is a drop in the bucket, and it's basically a form of marketing. CO gets great publicity in the FT community that reaches far beyond just the folks who attend.
You may as well ask if they should run fewer commercials or rent fewer billboards.

There are several 0s difference between the income CO will realize through the bag fees and the cost of running the DO weekend. And they're not going to change the fee to $14.83/bag, so we may as well get the $0.17 value out of it this way.
Plus, the ROI on the investment they are making from a marketing perspective is ridiculously high. If they could see the same ROI on their major marketing budget items they'd be ecstatic.

Many thanks, Gabe. I have every intention of going assuming the timing works.

I'll admit....when I first saw the thread title, I had to search and try to figure out what airport 'FOR' was. Perhaps I've spent too much time in MR deals...

Let's not forget that the revenue that CO will have collected by having several dozen people buy airfare to IAH that they wouldn't have bought otherwise. That will offset a portion of the funds CO will spend on the DO, I would think.
EDIT: bigboofer beat me to the point. Somehow I missed his post.

As a general question, are spouses/SO's not permitted/expected as guests if they're not OnePass FT'ers?
Completely invited and expected, assuming the past holds true. Mrs. sbm12 has a OP number and makes silver every now and then going on vacation with me. She came to DO III and had a great time on the tours and at the dinners. She skipped the breakout sessions as they weren't of interest to her, but overall she really had a good time.

Not only do they get good PR and marketing, but they actually get a lot of feedback from us during the Q&A sessions as well as at less formal times. LK and JS were at all the Friday night receptions talking to all of us.
Saves them money on consulting fees and focus groups.
And don't forget that a good portion (maybe the majority) or attendees actually fly in from elsewhere, and most of them come in on CO. That's extra revenue for them as well.
