They discussed the cheeseburger on Squawk Box this morning

Becky Quick was discussing her flight from College Station back to EWR on Squawk Box this morning. She mentioned that she barfed on the "puddle jumper", and then complimented Continental's service on the mainline IAH-EWR flight.

Apparently when they got to her all that was left was the cheeseburger, and she said that she didn't eat red meat (a white lie...she knew that if she ate the cheeseburger she'd barf again).

The Continental FA took pity on her, and another passenger traded her his salad. She praised the service, and then her sidekick (Carl Quintanilla) said "Larry Kellner runs a really good airline".

A little free pub for CO...

why are you still watching CNBC?

Perhaps Larry will get the point that the cheeseburger needs to be *enhanced*

She was obviously up front. I guess when a winsome lass like Becky (Link to photo) is hungry and says that she can't eat red meat, some poor sap will give up his salad.

I've given up my entree choice on multiple occasions to someone "behind" me who couldn't eat what they were serving due to dietary restrictions. Does that make me a sap?

Regarding the F cheeseburger, it's not terrible.

i quite like the cheeseburger. Its much better IMO than fare from MD, BK, or the like fast food.

Of course not. However, in this case Ms. Quick was fibbing about her "dietary restrictions", so the generous fellow was taken on this one.

I dunno, i refuse to eat it based on the fact that anytime they've served it, it looks like someone just plopped it down, sprayed cheez whiz all over it and nuked it for 30 seconds.

I'm a firm believer that if i can't look at my food and feel comfortable, it shouldn't be going in me.

I'll take the cheeseburger over anything UA serves domestically.

Not disagreeing it looks unappetizing. I reluctantly tried it out of hunger pangs after a tight IAH connection and found it to be not nearly as bad as it looked.

Just to note: there is a huge difference between the Y cheeseburger and the F one. I don't wish the Y one on my worst enemy. Well, actually...

Swap? Huh? That salad comes with the cheeseburger on that route. Unless something's changed very recently, I've never seen a salad as an entrée choice in Y on IAH-EWR. Usually there's not even a choice in Y. It's a cheeseburger and a salad. Take it or leave it.

And I have my doubts she really, truly vomited.

The whole thing sounds like exaggeration for the sake of attention on the TV to me.

The last dozen or so times I've gone between IAH and NYC (usually LGA) its been sandwich + soup or salad (w/ protein) and soup.

All with mushrooms and cheese of course.

Unless we're talking in back and then yes, you get the little elementary school style salad with the cheeseburger. I think this is one of the routes they're trying the spinach pinwheel thing.
