The only downgrade I have seen is what Smisek is calling "improving" the combined Airlines
YMMV
It's the whole shootin match that's been severely comprimised

Jeffie is a threat to ALL of us & it's gonna get worse

CO's best was during Gordon's years & Larry did what he could

I truly fear it's all downhill for some time to come

How sad indeed
I don't know. Maybe this is a little too Lew Kornfeld-y (To Catch a Mouse Make a Noise Like a Cheese) an opinion, but I don't see anything wrong with the name. It's been a generation since any presidents, admirals, or people wearing crowns were the ones in those lounges (if then), and either legacy name would have annoyed one or the other of the constituencies.

That's why it might have been smarter to have a completely

new & unique name for the clubs with less controversy

I have done it before. EWR-IAH-MZT
EWR-IAH (Monday evening)
IAH-MZT (Tuesday morning)

The international flight was not the same day but they did
let me in at the EWR PC.

My luggage was checked in all the way.

There is no room for a tulip in the New United, except in the cargo hold of a flight from Amsterdam.
