1st Annual ... In Honour Of The Freddies DO... NYC... Saturday, April 24, 2010
If you're like me, you were saddened to read Randy's e mail about the cancellation of The Freddie awards.
These awards took place for 24 years. There was a time we'd fill out the ballots that were included in InsideFlyer, and mail them to the HOM in COS.
I myself attended several Freddie presentations, not to mention watch a couple on the net. Lots of good times.
In order to fill this void , especially since some of you depend on using the weekend to pad your mileage accounts, I'm starting the first annualin honor of The Freddies DO.
Where: New York City
When: April 24th, 2010. This was the same weekend as The Freddies.
Here's how I envision the weekend...
April 23, 2010. Arrive New York City - possible dinner plans.
April 24, 2010. Saturday.
Meet at a central location in midtown Manhattan aka NYC.
Visit the NYC Transit Museum in Brooklyn.
Visit the Brooklyn Brewery.
Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge (not sure which way yet).
Walking tour of Little Italy/Chinatown, and maybe Greenwich Village
Visit the World Trade Center area.
Take a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry.
We'll lunch along the way.
Dinner will be a sit down at a restaurant to be named later.
In keeping with the theme of the Brooklyn Reality Tour, I'll try and work this out to be cost reduced. You can forget the $75 steak dinner. I want as many as possible to attend, and not worry about cost.
You got kidding me where Freddies Award will be there in NYC. So do you know where I can expect go to Freddies Award will be announced. Is that official? I can't believe it where Freddies will be in NYC for the weekend. So perhaps, Maybe I will rather go there to NYC for the weekend and am not even sure if I will have enough time during the time.

The long and the short of it is that I probably received an e mail from Randy that was meant for industry only people. Can't imagine how I'm on that list. I will not post that e mail.

I really would have thought that some sort of post/explanation.. by whom I'm not sure.. should have been made prior to this do!!! otherwise questions are sure to be expected and its not unreasonable to want to know why they were cancelled.. again, I'm not sure who should be answering this but if you do post a do like this without an explanation.. i'd expect questions to pop up here
