I believe there is but you'd better hurry. A deadline of 20th has been mentioned.

And can we use the $150 feeder flight(s) fare from YVR to EWR UA8100 (AC548)?
I doubt it since the DO website says the $150 feeder fare is available "for travel originating in the USA...".

Yes - there is still space on LH405. We can arrange to get you the $150 segment if you want to originate at YYZ and then join us at EWR+JFK.

You need to ticket SOON!

Dear all! If anybody is still at this stage interested in cutting costs and sharing Sheraton room 5/6 NOV, please send message. Although, when necessary, I may start FRA and stay both 4/5-5/6 NOV.

Same question applies for 6/7 stay at Seeheim, where it is also possible to share.

I'm paid & ticketed on almost everything. The only thing I have not done is get a ticket for ORD - EWR. Should I do that on my own now? Does the $150 thing apply here?

Thanks!

We're all awaiting this one and have been told special arrangements are being made for both the flight and fare (which we've been told will not exceed the $150 LH/UA segment, but will be booked separately. Just checking the UA site, the flight (UA7370) is a CRJ700 and wide open. At least according to the seating chart there are only five seats taken in coach, four in E+ and one further back. Of the six F seats, just one has been taken. The base fare at the moment is $204.

Seems the UA details are still a bit up in the air and hopefully on all counts (ORD-EWR flight, 15K mileage participation, actual ORD events, luggage storage situation at ORD/EWR) should be resolved this week.

Attn ORD Attendees

Those of us participating in the UA Event at ORD will be arriving Monday in Chicago (I'm spending he weekend in the city, then overnighting at the Hyatt Rosemont). Would any of you like to have a get-acquainted gathering early evening? Given what lies ahead for the week, this would wrap by 9p and likely include light dinner and drinks. Nothing fancy or expensive. If so, PM me and I will compile a list and post a follow-up. (Don't want to clutter this thread with lots of superfluous posts.) Suggestions for a location near ORD would also be appreciated.

Seating Assignments on the LH TATL

As we didn't receive seat assignments with our LH TATL confirmations/e-tickets, is it safe to assume that on LH405 we economy flyers have been seated in a special area of the back cabin too, and that we might benefit from blocking of the centre seats if our group doesn't fill that whole section? Is there a link by which we can actually see a "live" seating chart for that particular flight (as one can when booking on the UA, US and AC sites)?

No, LH's seating chart is only available if you are actually booking flights but here are links based on what someone posted on FT recently.

Business cabin
Economy cabin

Unfortunately assigned seats and blocked seats both appear in grey.

Here are seat maps from KVS.

Thanks Newbie Runner. Am I to take it that the gray seats are either assigned or blocked? That seems to be my interpretation of the cabin shots from both sources. This would lead me to believe LH has indeed assigned our group seats, but still has blocked off seats for release after our sell date ends this week. I have now called LH and the agent was able to give me my assigned seat number for LH405. It was a C-aisle and I prefer the centre D-aisle so had her move me from 48C to 40D. Hope I have not messed up by losing a blocked centre seat between 48A and my old seat! At the moment the balance of row 40 (centre spread of four seats) is empty, so I will keep my fingers crossed that 40E remains that way...

I'm assuming that there will be a different ticketing deadline for the ORD-EWR segment some of us have been waiting to hear/read about. Since I'd be starting out in NYC, having some sort of return airfare would be nice, instead of a special fare for the DO and having to buy a high one-way separately.

And now, I'll patiently wait till there's an announcement about this.

Again, my thanks to all of you for your hard work and patience with all of us.

Any plans on where/when for EWR meeting point on Nov 3rd? I am looking into flight for arrival into EWR and wondering where we meet and what do we do with our luggage?
