I've voted which only gets you to 34. FT can do better than that. Come on everyone.

He's almost tripled his vote count overnight. However, do you think for a New York minute that the vote leaders are limited to one email address per voter? If it's still not obvious, try a Chicago minute.

Maybe I'm closer - I'm in AKL at the moment!

I voted ...

Frankly, I am shocked that some people would vote from more than one e-mail addy. However, apparently quite a few are doing it as the site was slow when I registered and voted for the second and third times.

(I used different names each time but I suspect Canarsie will be able to figure out which they are.)

KLC I was on Prince Albert to Antarctica last December, and am going on the same ship to the Arctic in 10 days. I was really impressed with their expedition staff, who made the trip so memorable.

Canarsie,I hope you win. Knowing you, you would be fantastic as the choice. Good luck!

There's a long way to "The end date for Competition entries is noon September 30, 2009, EDT".

Currently on 47 votes in 31st place

Leader is on 728 votes, then 582, 446, 366 ...

100 votes would currently give 20th place ...

Thanks for the idea. I just did.

And, for the record, I was vote number 37 yesterday.

I do, however, want to go on record as saying that if Canarsie wins and chooses me to accompany him to that frozen wasteland, I will refuse.

On the other hand, if the winner looks anything like this contestant...

So will I. But for a different reason.

As a spoiled-rotten FlyerTalker, I avoid flying in the rear of the plane at all costs.

And so this part of the rules gives me the chills, excuse the pun:

economy air fare for two people from the international airport nearest the OQEBs home community to Ushuaia, Argentina (aka "the end of the Earth") and back.
But I'm sure that Canarsie will have no problem finding many, many willing companions for this otherwise spectacular trip.

And I now have joined the illustrious last poster in casting my vote for Canarsie (#54) and disavowing any intention of accompanying him riding in coach.

Good luck to our guy, I hope he makes it.
