I am absolutely amazed regarding the locations of FlyerTalk members from where votes for my entry came:
New Zealand
United States
Romania
Thailand
Argentina
Netherlands
Cambodia
Scotland
Panama
Switzerland
Israel
England
Canada
Australia
I apologize if I missed any locations.

I never thought I would be competing one day with the son of Donny Osmond.
He is proving to be one bad apple.
This competition is indeed like a yo-yo and becoming more bizarre...

Oh, and of course, he has my vote[s]!
Thank you, jackal. I hope to meet you someday as well.
Right now, I cannot even be concerned with who will come with me to Antarctica until my entry garners enough votes for me to have a reasonable chance of winning. However, once that happens, I will then attempt to devise a fair system as to which FlyerTalk member will accompany me to Antarctica.
By the way, for those of you who are wondering, it will be a FlyerTalk member who joins me on the trip to Antarctica. Before I even launched this thread, I already confirmed that there is no family member or friend of mine outside of FlyerTalk who is interested in going to Antarctica...

Currently, my entry is in sixth place with 596 votes, while the lead entry has 2,013 votes.
My entry needs 259 votes simply to regain fifth place.
Please try to encourage family, friends and colleagues to vote for my entry, especially if you are a FlyerTalk member that wants to accompany me to Antarctica. Although I am actively working other channels, I still have faith that the power of FlyerTalk and its members will help garner enough votes to catapult my entry into the lead.
One person wrote to me, wondering if Don Osmond does not just simply have enough money to go to Antarctica on his own...

Glad you saw the light
This seems to be an intriguing marketing technique to reach a lot of email addresses w/o buying them from someone else... - besides being a PR stunt - hey - the idea sounds a little cool

Interesting move. The 5th place competitor has set up a contest of her own, giving away plush penguins. http://sendmesouth.info/Home_Page.html
Give-away contests like that always attract site traffic. It could even land up on S.P.A.M. if someone isn't paying attention.
But I don't think it will help her... The Osmondo should be in second place by the end of the weekend, and he's just getting started.
Our guy needs some more creative marketing, something viral.
Don’t despair so fast! Check out some of the comments on that site...
I did indeed read some of the comments there, and here they are just in case they get deleted for some reason...

DON'T YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO SEND YOUR SON TO ANTARCTICA ON HIS OWN WITH OUT RUINING THE CHANCES OF SOME ONE ELSE IN THE CONTEST WHO CAN NOT AFFORD TO GO THERE??? Posted 1 day ago by zeusman
I am very disappointed to be asked to submit a vote for another of Donny's children in a contest about which I know very little. It would be inappropriate if Don received this appointment due to his father's fans' votes and a better qualified young person sat at home missing this opportunity because he/she did not have a famous relative. May the best man or woman win!!

Love ya Donny ... but I really don't think this seems fair to the other contestants .. just my 2 cents

This is just my humble opinion, but like in the singing contest where Brandon won, I don't think is is fair to the other contestants who don't have a famous father or aunt/uncles with a fan base to help win votes.
It should be on the merit of each individual and sending these emails to fans of Donny or Marie doll friends is taking advantage. I don't have anyone participating in this particular contest, just wanted to share my thoughts. Thank you for your time.
...and I am not in despair:

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I might just be able to capitalize on this, and I can use all the assistance I can get...
