17-19 SEP 2010:The VIE Waltz-DO

Servus and a warm welcome to Vienna, where some Flyertalkers have decided to stage the VIE Waltz-Do, from Friday September 17th to Sunday September 19th, 2010.

Our program for all three exciting days is starting on Friday with a come-together Party, continuing to a great Sightseeing tour on Saturday and ending with a "Brunch in the sky" on Sunday. It's a weekend that should give you the best of Vienna and plenty of quality time to spend with your Flyertalk friends.

Friday:

- Come together party at late afternoon
- Dinner in a local restaurant - (Figlmüller - famous for Wiener Schnitzel)

Saturday:

- Great sightseeing tour (Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere Palace, The Riesenrad in the Wiener Prater, Imperial Palace with Sisi Museum and secular/ecclesiastical treasuries)
- Afternoon Coffee break at the Cafe Sacher for trying the orgininal Sacher cake.
- Dinner at a typical "Heurigen" - Schweizerhaus

Sunday:

- Brunch in the sky at the Danube Tower with Waltz music

There are a lot more things to discover, which you can do before or after the DO weekend. Vienna offers a lot of good museums and concerts.

If anybody is planning to attend the Oktoberfest at MUC, it will be held from the 18th Sep to the 3th Oct. 2010, which starts also on our DO weekend.

Dates are marked, but it's way too early to confirm. Usually I have some set meetings at this time, but a weekend in VIE should be possible and doable given the frequent flights to VIE from Germany airports.

Oooh..... I love Vienna! This sounds wonderful, and I have marked the dates. Naturally, it is still too far out to make any firm commitments, but I'm definitely interested.
