The only IC hotel there is a Holiday Inn. There is a fair distance between that and the Hilton, but the Holiday Inn is closer to Rundle Mall and the street where the JetBus runs through compared to the Hilton.
A Crowne Plaza is scheduled to open in the second quarter 2010, for those who like to live dangerously with hotel reservations.

I prefer to enjoy a hotel stay, not be a guinea pig to help them sort out the non working sections of it.
The new Hilton South Wharf in Melbourne was also several months late opening. They did do some very good upgrades etc in the first few weeks but we also had a faulty fire alarm at 0415 one morning.

Personally I doubt that I would take the risk!
I still enjoyed that stay, even though it was during the first "busy" period the hotel ever had and you could clearly see all of the staff trying to adjust as quickly as possible to the dynamics.
Then I gave them a good review and scored a complimentary room upgrade for next time.
The Adelaide CP has already been delayed. Like all hotels, particularly with almost a year's lead time, anything can happen. I put it up as a possible Priority Club alternative alternative to the Holiday Inn, which is better than the Cairns Holiday Inn but is still a Holiday Inn. The other thing that is clear is that anyone looking for hotel bargains across the chains should be watching the market in 6-9 months time, not now.

I agree - and looking at the prices that the Holiday Inn have at the moment, versus what the Hilton have, at the moment, the Hilton was an obvious choice. While I generally agree on the 6-9 months time thing, another thing to keep in mind is the effect of whether or not the AFL schedule a match in Adelaide that weekend.

Let's hope not; because that'll mean absolute hell for finding accommodation. I cite finding accommodation in MEL during AFF Gather #1.

Making a refundable booking is a sensible course of action in Adelaide. And the AFL schedule should be published in late October.

Given there are two teams playing out of ADL, it would be a very rare thing for there not to be a game on (though not out of the question - I think it happened once this year).
