OK phoned the Hilton Groups Manager, Adelaide, and this is what she has offered by email.
If she loads this, so it can be web bookable under some promo code I presume it will have no cancel fees. (Americans .... remember these are $A NETT fees and include all taxes.)
So please hold off making any direct bookings until we clear that up.
Base Rate does not look super enticing to me as Joe Anyone can book weekends for the Winter months on Wotif for $A165. Friday July 31 they go down to $A130 on wotif, yet the next Friday August 7 they are up to $A305, so like all hotels, it is based on conferences and such like.
These rates below appear to be about $A10 a room under web rate for that weekend.
I'll ask if she might do a touch lower, and I can if needed ask the Hyatt Regency for a group quote, although that is in nowhere near as useful a locale as Hilton for most of what we do .... altho Hyatt is far closer to the main Shopping Mall.

Put me down as interested at this early stage. My attendance will depend on the activities chosen for Friday night and all day Saturday. I have no interest in a full day winery tour and Kangaroo Island sounds way too expensive.
So what are the actual dates of the DO? The thread title mentions May 29-31 2010, itsalongwaydown's signature mentions 28-30 May 2010 and Mwenenzi's signature mentions 20-31 May 2010.

I was born in Adelaide (but moved to SYD many years ago) so once I figure out how I can fly into ADL for a weekend and not see my huge extended family down there, then I might be able to attend .
Please put me down as a "maybe" with MINI DG as well.
HOTELS: I wish SPG had a property there, but I hopefully can find a Crown Plaza or similar (IC) to rack up some points in. I am a HILTON nothing .
If precedent is any indication, there will also be smaller informal get-togethers on Thursday the 27th and Monday the 31st for those who come early, stay on or live in the area (and can't get enough of our scintillating company). These will show up closer to the time, as people get a better idea of their schedules.

Friday evening as at every other OzFest, will be an informal dinner.
As stated in post #1, Saturday or Sunday will be a full day Barossa Valley winery region trip.

The only IC hotel there is a Holiday Inn. There is a fair distance between that and the Hilton, but the Holiday Inn is closer to Rundle Mall and the street where the JetBus runs through compared to the Hilton.

Unless your extended family has spy cams everywhere, most of the activity (I believe) will be either in the city or far out (perhaps, a possible tour of the cricket ground excepted). So that shouldn't be a problem
