just curious, if you are on business travel, how can you be crashing on others couches, at friends etc? that doesn't seem like it would pass the smell test in travel accounting or through the review process
Server in fine dining restaurant. Probably spend 3 weeks of the year on vacation. All my travel is leisure travel. I'd estimate I'm probably the only server on FT (that posts with any regularity).

I'm in Inside Sales/Management with an Electrical Products Company. I spent approximently three weeks on the road for business and another forty-five days to two months on the road for personal travel. I just wish the company would stop booking me at Holiday Inn Expresses.

Our company will pay you something like $30/night if you are away on business and they aren't paying for a hotel (or flight) that night. So if you happen to be in a city where you have friends/family you could stay with them and get some pocket money to boot.

Consultant. Average about 150 work-related hotel nights on the road + another 20-25 of discretionary/vacation. I don't keep track of nights spent on planes, but maybe I should start.
Currently at 70-something for the year. I expect to keep it below 120 this year, though, since I'll be working in town for a few months.
180 - 200 I've seen a lot with consultants. (3-4 nights/week*50 weeks)
I haven't yet met someone that has topped 250 for business.
Well doclkk here's your chance! Hi there! My name is WildBill, I average 300 days a year on the road, 250 nights in Hotels, 121 so far this year. I've made my Chairman Preferred status on US and Platinum on DL this year.
My position; Senior Field Service Engineer servicing Industrial Explosion Suppression Systems! (ok, sounds really cool, but just really really fast fire systems.)
Mostly ConUS, but I've had years where I did Korea/Japan 6 times a year. I get 15 days vacation a year; my boss got a little upset when he realized that last year I'd used 2. (Hey, I LOVE my traveling, why take vacation? He makes me stop and work every so often) People often ask me where I live, I usually claim ATL Airport!!!
