To match the last SinDO's map... http://openflights.org/user/SinDO2009

I've created a new OpenFlights account for next year: http://openflights.org/user/SinDO2010

To add your flights, go to http://openflights.org and login in as user SinDO2010, password sindo (all lowercase), then hit "Add flights". Please also "Add new trip" using your FT handle as the name, so the map can be filtered easily. I've added mahasamaatman's flights as an example.

You can also add me in the "probably" column for next year, but no flights for me since I live here

I will probably be booking flights this week.

What time of the day on the 15 January are most people arriving. I will probably be coming in on UA from NRT.

Because I turned in an unused paper ticket and had to book at the airport ticket counter talking to a real person face to face, and the TSA were just steps away.

... but if AA decides to offer triple miles I can now cancel online and rebook sort of anonymously, perhaps via LHR.

Most people arriving early on 1/15 will come in on UA or NW/DL which arrive around midnight. Thus you are getting in on the night of the 14th.

If this is the case keep in mind the pre-SinDo excursion(s) providing the opportunity for a further lack of sleep. After all who in their right minds would fly to Singapore to sleep? Pre SinDo 2010 Friday Event 15th Jan 2010

I think the UA flight arrives at around Midnight on the 15th or Late night on the 14th.

When you say people arrive early on the 15th do you mean 9-12 AM?

No, I mean just after midnight.

Present schedules: These are for flights originating from North, Central and South America.

SQ 11 2345 (via NRT)
NW 19 0045 (via NRT)
UA 895 2350 (via HKG)
UA 875 2320 (via NRT)
AA 5836 0030 (via NRT) JAL

Since you are in the U.S., these are the most frequently used flights.

Yes, you can arrive mid-day by going trans-atlantic via Europe but most of us go trans-PAC because of the price difference and upgrade opportunities.

Convert the UA flights to 24 hour time
UA 895 2350 (via HKG)
UA 875 2320 (via NRT)

SQ 15 (SFO via ICN) gets in around 0105
NH 901 (NRT) gets in at 0005

These are both common connections, at least in my office.

Nice to see that 803 is no longer "direct" IAD-SIN - that used to make the flight much less appealing.

Question SIN via IAD or SFO/LAX

As I'm trying to sit down and finally book my flights (and hopefully ugs) i was wondering...

Is there any reason why most UA folks (even those from the East Coast) seem to transit through SFO/LAX instead of taking the new config 747 nonstop to NRT-SIN from IAD?

While I usually like to break up my flights it seems the layover in either LAX/SFO for a morning flight to HKG/NRT-SIN is somewhat tight, especially considering these flights are in January.

That said, I know that NYC-IAD is always a crapshoot but the IAD-NRT flight is in the late afternoon and if I'm really that worried, I can always book a 5ish hr layover.

enquiring minds wanna know (and book the best option )
