While this is good advice, the library only holds 32, we are already at 42 and it is only February 6.

I think the event will need to be at the Pittsfield Township Center to accommodate all the people already signed up.

I would feel bad to not keep the event open to all people wanting to attend. This is dynamite info provided by passionate speakers.

Although I agree the library is more intimate and encourages more mixing, the thought of turning a significant amount of people away doesn't sit right with me.

I'll update the first post when I secure the township hall on Monday.

Thanks for trying for a larger venue. I was looking forward to Ann Arbor this year and have just learned it's do-able for us!

Well, well, look at the interest in this already!
Bikeguy, I so want to go to this. Now, if I just had booked my Business class award trip coming back from Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, and Hawaii on NW instead of One World, then there'd be a way to "adjust" my schedule to attend. But I can assure you that if there is anyway I can get over there on Saturday or Sunday, I will .

Part of the reason I haven't been on this thread yet is I've been working like crazy on taking advantage of all the tips I learned from the last two Dos. Thanks so much to Wanaflyless, Ingy, Gleff, and so many others for helping me out on so many things. and others that I have met at previous Dos like bk3day, toomanybooks, Mrp Alert, fti, and others (sorry for not mentioning everyone by name) that I met at the Dos have been very helpful to me over the past year.

Folks these seminars are great - make every effort to come if you can!!

Found the Candlewood is pushing Q-suites at $80.

Do u know how far this hotel is from the airport (do I need to rent a car, etc)? This is my 1st event. If I had time to see Detroit, depending on the distance & timeframe of the event, is a rental needed period? Of course this question is for those of u who have been here before.

Put me down as 99% sure. Will this seminar give us insight on how to construct MRs, etc?

No. No MR insight.

If you want that, either attend a MR 101 or 201 session, or buy someone who has attended lunch.

This is more or less great deals and opportunities to use after you have the miles or points. It's what's possible if you are up on your game.

Hotel is 25 minutes from airport.

City of Detroit is about 20 minutes past the airport from Ann Arbor.

You'd definitely need a car to see Detroit.

If you are only coming to the hotel and DO, people typically car pool from the airport.

Added.

I may ask you to talk as an intro speaker, to hear how you went from 0 to 2,000,000 in one month on AA.

I'm going to try to make it again this year and will attempt to get my brother to come from Atlanta.

heard some good things from a couple FT'ers about this Do, so count me in. Thanks for your efforts in organizing this

Staying at Hyatt Place Livonia (Detroit burb) & yes I know it is not close to AA but am a current Hyatt slut for this year.

unless UA fares ORD-DTW are very cheap, most likely I'll be driving from Chicago.

Anyone else interested in perhaps carpooling from Chicago ?

I too prefer the location at the Township Hall. Downtown is a mess during the day and parking is $10. It was fine after the seminar to find (free) parking downtown for dinner.

My company has a corporate rate at the Crowne Plaza DTW for $99 / night.
Which has a lounge on the 9th floor I believe. All complimentary upgrades has cleared in 2008 for all corporate bookings. It usually takes a phone call to the sales manager. PM me if you are interested.

DTW is about 25 minutes from Ann Arbor.

There's an even larger venue -- it's called Michigan Stadium -- but it's not available this year due to construction. <lol>
