My Secret Santa was busy already, with a great present for me! Someone apparently did their research and noticed that the first time Mr. Kipper leaves for a week after closing on our house, the water heater died. My Santa sent me the Home Depot Home Improvement 1-2-3 book, with lots of easy to understand photos and instructions. Those are just my speed, since I'm new to home repairs! Thank you, Santa!!!

ETA: Mr. Kipper enjoyed the shipping envelope, as he started wearing it on his head as a joke.

Glad to see that everyone is getting in the holiday spirit.

REMINDER: Only two more shopping days left to enter the Secret Santa Extavaganza... don't be on the outside looking in!

SECOND REMINDER: Please remember to PM me when you mail your gift.

My Secret Santa(s) have been very busy... Waiting for us when we returned home from Thanksgiving was a package from Bering's, with coffee, BBQ rub, a very cute Texas ornament, and a yummy smelling votive candle and aerosol spray. Thank you Santa! Mr. Kipper wants to put the BBQ rub to use for dinner tonight.

I got home last night to find an Eiffel Tower Postcard and a box which had a cute Hong Kong Conrad Bear all decked out in construction gear. He looked like a little Village People bear... so CUTE ... along with some LAN earplugs and an Emirates sleepmask.

Thanks Santas!

I got two packages from my Elf today, with a 3rd one to come. This person has done an excellent job reading my posts, as I was given a Zagat guide to Paris Restaurants amd a comment about 52 euro hotel rooms. I got in on the 52 euro deal at the Prince de Galles in Paris for next November. They also know I'm headed to Princeville, as I received an old hotel directory. Very witty!

I have some intriguing clues. Both packages came with a return address to House of Miles in Colorado Springs. BUT both packages were mailed in NY. hmmm..... There were three handwritten notes, on paper from Marriott (generic), The Joule in Dallas, and Boston Harbor Hotel. This elf is making this a lot of fun for me.

Dear Santa!

Thank you for your gifts from Berings! That is one of my favorite places. I don't live but about a mile from there and buy most of my coffee beans from them. Great place for 'interesting' hardware, too. Home Depot may have the usual nuts and bolts, but Berings has what turns a project into a design!

My place does, indeed, 'smell christmasy' now. Now I suppose I'll have to go get a tree.

Thanks again! Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Click on the poster's handle on the side of a message, and select, "Find more posts by..."

You can also go to search, advanced search, and in the "search by user name" box, type in their handle.

Two options: If you see one post by the person (perhaps in this thread), click on their handle & select "Find More Posts by ...."

Or, click "Search" in the blue bar above; select "Advanced Search" at the bottom left of the little search box; in the "Search by User Name" enter the FTers name & under Search Options select "Show Results as Posts". You can further narrow the search to a specific forum or grouping if desired.

edit: Kipper beat me to it.

Smile I got two presents! (Said in singsong voice)

One is an Altec Lansing speaker set.

The other is a beautifully wrapped package from Williams Sonoma. I will wait to open it until Hanukkah/Christmas.

Thanks to both of my Secret Santas.

Question

Re: Gift options.

There's an item I'd like to procure for one of my Secret Santees but it's not available (so far as I can find) at an online retailer who can send it as a gift. I'd prefer that it at least arrive without an invoice; even better if the retailer could wrap it for me. It's something not available to me locally, so I don't realistically see shipping to myself to re-ship it out in time for Xmas.

Should I just order it and send it out as it is? Perhaps alert the Santee that s/he will be getting a box from BrandX retailer but it's to be saved until Xmas?

Other suggestions, maybe? Help?
