Perhaps Melville and violist? Wasn't it great of F0zzyNUE to find Rauchbier and give it to us? I suspect you can make a poor imitation at home by dropping some bacon in a bottle of Molson's for an hour or so, or heaven forbid, using liquid smoke. Or an ashtray. Whatever works. To me it's like smoked cheese. Why?

Aside from the smokey beer, NUE had some fantastic food and beer. I've never eaten so well for so little. Thanks again, CHris.

Yes, the Rauchbier was fun to try ... likely a one off for me, but OTOH it may be acquired taste.

• the amazing and very knowledgable guide on the rally ground tour
• lili's bright eyes whenever she encountered parts of a dead pig
• the moment when the missing and latecoming flyertalker for the rally grounds tour accidently passed the group in a tram
• the two hour fight with my printer to get the badges printed on both sides
• happy faces all over the weekend

p.p.s. the 2nd installation of a franconian do is already on my radar. however expect it to take place in 2011.

Late for me to comment but these are great pictures. NewbieRunner is in ORD for a conference so I got to see some of the "other" pictures last night. I was surprised at how many people I recognized at the tour - not surprised to see some the things that they were doing. Some of you I will never forget since you are on my wallpaper slideshow - so for example, when "szg" shows up I tell myself that he is counting to a million.

Looking forward to seeing many of you again. According to Newbie it was wonderful.
