I was sitting at the gate in PHX awaiting my flight to SAN. Boarding commenced, and I noted someone with a bright yellow flyertalk tag on his suitcase just walked by. I was about to shout out Hey FLYERTALK! when I realized I knew the person. It was mrpickles.

Just spotted Billiken thanks to his FT tag at the ORD C UC. That was a nice surprise.

I received my flyertalk tags in December. I plan to use them on my carry on bags - Feb. 14 trek MIA-LAX-SYD and will now start paying attention to others. Hopefully someone will say hey there trekker!! in the MIA AC and/or whatever QF club they'll direct me to at TBIT.

Flyertalk pledge pin on your UNIFORM!!?
Sorry, that was supposed to sound like Niedermeyer from Animal House.
I guess this is more towards the owners/organizers of FT, but has anyone ever thought of making and selling Flyertalk "pins" (like a flag pin) for people to put on their bags or backpacks?
It would be interesting to see how many people at the terminals are fellow FT'ers. It also might get some of the airlines to say "hey... what is that yellow pin that all our customers are wearing...." and might garner some more interest with our concerns.
Or maybe a bag tag.
Just a thought.

AND if you take the time to click on the relatively small link to the FlyerTalk Merchandise Annex you end up here: http://www.cafepress.com/flyertalk where there is other interesting stuff (I personally like the hard luggage tags better than the yellow ones, less noticeable perhaps, but a little nicer!). Just don't leave them on checked luggage, they get destroyed easily that way.
I do find the shower curtain, wall decal, and mylar balloon a bit puzzling.

Wonder who has the shower curtain?
I recall back in the day there were pins as you described.
