I grabbed myself a 2 bedroom on Airbnb (Christensen dr between 3rd and 2nd), a couple blocks from the downtown Hilton for the second half of the DO 6/21 - 6/25 (technically i'm leaving at 1215am on 25th so vacating evening of 24th) I haven't asked about a second guest but may be interested in sharing the second bedroom to cut down on costs.

I did some sleuthing for Barrow lodging, and thought I would pass along my findings:
Ukpeagvic Inupiat Corporation (the local Native corporation) operates 2 options. Easy online booking
Tukkumavik Suites:
Ukpik Nest II hotel:
This may work out better for those interested in sharing, or wanting a private room on a budget.
Latitude 71 Bed and Breakfast:
All rates above inclusive of all taxes and fees.
I did ask the B&B about group rates, and got this response:
In any case, thought this info might help anyone interested in other options or interested in economizing.
Note that these locations are located in town, closer to the church, AC (grocery store), Library, Native cultural center. But 1-1.4 miles from the airport. A group of 3 of us did book at the Tukkumavik Suites and are happy to coordinate transportation as needed if anyone else chooses these options.

All rates above inclusive of all taxes and fees.

Rental Car
I was taken back by the high prices of rental cars at ANC. They don't honor coupons like Entertainment Book either. I did save about 50% through Chase travel who put me with Enterprise.

beckoa - I assume that Guided tour cost is for the entire group, not per person, correct? Also, will the guided tour include Point Barrow (proper), or should we make our own individual plans to get up there should we so desire?
