I'm skipping Oz fest. my mileage balance is crashing down to under 200,000 miles. Unless my work doesn't freak out and i can get a good CX PE sale.

Alas I'll be in Greenland for the Summer Solstice. Please add me to the 'Next time' list.

Likewise, on account of most of my 2017 vacation time is already spoken for. I'll have to punt until 2018

This seems fun and I've never been to Alaska. Ugh time to poke around looking at flights.

Somebody help me here, dealing with a broken laptop. The intra Alaska flights are pricing at 7.5k each way with AS miles. That right? Is it too long for the 5k redemption?

If I do this I'll have booked 4 weeks of PTO in the first half of 2017. Not that I have an issue with it but... I'll have to take a break

ANC-BRW is 725 miles so 24 miles too long for the 5K award

You may actually not want to get off the bus on account of the mozzies

Do not be dissing the Alaska State Bird!!! To truly experience our great state one must bring a small dog or child and watch the bird suck the life blood out of said creature. Or simply offer an arm to the bird, let it feast until you almost black out, then pull your arm back into the vehicle at the very last second.

Just out at wonder lake or all the way through? I'll at least have my fly net head face mask from the attack of the flies at Ayers Rock.

...or you can simply suffocate if you are caught in a cloud of them. You do remember the ones on that road from Teller or, maybe not since you were mostly under the van trying to figure out how to mount what the rental car company claimed was the spare tire.

We too will not be visiting Barrow again but attendance at any other events of the DO TBD.

Put me as a tentative for part 3 in ANC - I would come on Thurs night after work and leave sometime on Saturday. I was hoping to use my last two 2016 GGU for this, but fares are currently way too high to justify purchasing right now.

I so badly want to come to this. My best option would be to do the same as last this last summer. I could get the late UA flight Thursday night DAY-DEN-ANC and come to chez Bobs on Friday at 12.00 and then return at leisure. Please put me as a tentative for the BBQ. I will confirm nearer the time.
