There are quite a few LCCs but the ones I know that fly the route are Peach, T'way, and Jin Air. However I was not able to check flights out that far on their websites.

If you search Google flights for flights from Tokyo to Seoul cheap tickets are only available up to the end of October, suggesting that LCCs do not sell tickets that far in advance.

How close is this timing to the annual cherry blossom festival? Based off of last year when I went it seems like a week late maybe?

Dunno about the festival, but we should be swamped compared to other years!

And the thread for the Korea Do (aka post-Japan Do) currently has more posts than the actual Japan Do.

That is my fault most likely. Padding it with responses such as this!

Count me in.
I'll be coming from the Japan Do.

So I'm interested to see what flights people book from the Japan Do.

Lots of choices here. All three alliances serve this route.

Narita to Incheon
One World: Japan Airlines
Star: Asiana, ANA
Sky Team: Korean
Plus various LCCs such as Peach, Jin, Tway.

Haneda to Gimpo
One World: Japan
Star: ANA, Asiana
Sky Team: Korean
and probably some LCCs.

Haneda to Incheon
Peach

Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I am thinking someone will arrange a lounge meet up at the airport in Tokyo.

How are the LCCs? Are any of them fee-factories, or are they just no frills?

I hope someone else can answer that. I have no experience with them at all.

Meanwhile, here is a video someone made recently of a flight on Asiana in the First class section. from Tokyo to Seoul.

I should add that there is no First Class service on this route anymore. But the First Class seats are still there, with Business Class service. See post #61 for more info.
