Probable for KUL. Have done several of the SIN-DO's before missing the last couple. Reserved at the Hilton.

Any advise on airline coming up from Singapore? Will be arriving on UA early Friday morning and will have one bag, but not a major problem if I have to go out and re-check. Seem to be quite a few choices here.

Thanks.

How early Friday morning? I believe the only UA arrivals are around midnight, and there aren't any KUL-bound flights at that time. Not sure if you want to do the cheap and simple way and fly out at first light, or hang out in SIN for a little while before heading up?

Probably will do the transit hotel and a little breakfast so would be looking for a flight around 10am or later.

It's all much of a muchness for a 50min flight, although if you prefer a wide body, SQ has one at 8.30am, and HY at 9.10am. Then it's A320s/737s doing the rounds for the rest of the morning.

WY has an A330 departing at 5.15am if you ever want to consider not using the transit hotel at all.

Personally, I would just take whichever is cheapest. This route almost has a shuttle bus feel to it.

Flights booked. I'll be headed straight to PNH to rendezvous with the group for the post-Do.

January 16: ORD-SFO-ICN (subject to change due to tight connection in SFO)

January 17: ICN-PNH (OZ)

January 21: PNH-BKK-NRT (TG585, TG640 in J)

January 22: NRT-ORD-ABQ (NH12 in F, UA3581)

Not sure where hotel central is, but anywhere in the Golden Triangle will do. And since traffic can be madness in KUL, if you don't mind public transit, somewhere near a monorail station might work well too. One of its terminal is close to KL Sentral, which is about a 3 mins walk through a shopping mall. KL Sentral itself isn't exactly central, but it's where you would catch the express train or bus to the airport. It is also served by Starwood and Hilton properties.

That's not a bad choice, actually. The Grand Hyatt is within the golden triangle, and it's a short walk to Jalan P Ramlee - full of lounges, bars, pubs, and nightclubs if you're really active.

I think the organizers(and probably a plurality of attendees) will likely be staying at the Grand Hyatt. I booked the nearby Doubletree because it seemed like a great value at 10,000 Hilton Points a night (and seems to have good reviews). I might change my mind and switch to the Hyatt though.

I'm booked! Snagged one of the KLM biz class sale fares yesterday for YYZ-SIN ($2200). ^

Any word on whether we will have an aviation event at this year's do?
