Funny that you mention that! I myself had a MUCH better day after Ithaka than after last year's NorthSquare.

So I'll second smaller pours. Given the theme, I know there would be many wines I'd want to try, and smaller pours would help with that.

Good point. With 24 people and 24 bottles, in theory this means a 1 oz pour per person. In reality, not everyone likes a certain wine, or heaven forbid, forgets about a wine or two.

I always suggest a short pour to start. After the first round, pour as much as you like for your second glass. The servers will not do any pouring for us unless asked, and we don't ask.

WineDo encourages everyone to get up and visit the other 2 tables (we have 3) to get a second pour of something you enjoy. Don't be bashful, you're in New York. Nobody will say anything to you, or give a rats A$$ if you help yourself. OTOH, if all you want to drink is what's at your table, that's fine too! Means more for the others.

As of today, we have 20 on the list, with 5 maybes. The room holds 24.

I won't ask for pre-payment until April. I'm sure everything will work out.

Would love to be a part of this. Count me in +1 if there's still space!

I met some of you at thewayofthefuture's Chilean dinner/wine night event a few weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

I've updated this list. Welcome to your first WineDo.

Slightly off topic... I have 2 AA club passes that expire end of April. If you can use 1 (or 2), let me know.

Post #2 now reflects the wine that people are bringing.

FYI, I realize that many foreign wines may not be worth what you paid for them, now that the foreign exchange rates have changed. The powers that be understand this, so not to worry.

That's good as I plan to pick up some wine in NZ during OZ Fest for the dinner. Since the complete collapse of the Kiwi $$, there may not be a wine that meets the 35 USD minimum. I will do my best to meet the minimum, although it may be a white......

Considering where some of this crowd will be during the Memorial Day weekend, the Kiwis and Aussies might well be heavily represented at the WineDo this year.

Slowly locking down on a potential second bottle... something nice, I promise

If anyone wants to outsource bottle(s) from the microcellar, just let me know (turns out there are 'few' bottles I never 'logged' so I'm in a serious space problem, and it turns out that boxes tend to multiple so the more boxes you clean and consolidate in storage, the more show up... it's a mathematical rule I've yet to figure out )
