I'm a maybe, I'm thinking I may be able to turn this into a business trip as well. I'll know as we get closer. I've hit a couple bbq places in the last couple months going through KC and it's the best area in my opinion for q

I'll only have a day if I can do it. Looks like I can get into MCI by about 6 on Friday - too late by the time I get a car and get into town to meet everyone on Friday night but I'd be good for a couple stops on Saturday. Count me as a maybe for now...

You won't be late at all! Dinner won't start until at least 8:15pm. Heck, I don't even land until 7pm!

I've only eaten at Gates. It'll be nice to sample some of the others.

Interested -- is there a "HQ" hotel or ??
Also to akp - I would also be interested in the Royals game on Sunday.

Will see if I can find a reasonable J fare from Europe ... I hope a British accent won't be an impediment

There is no central hotel; people are staying all over town.

I will probably be the last arrival on Friday, given that I am scheduled to land at MCI at 7:45; as was done the last time I attended I will ask that someone save me a seat at the table.

Since the weekend of the DO falls on a First Friday, the earliest we can get in is usually around 830-915. I arrive early to Crosstown for the festivities if anyone gets into town early and wants to do happy hour.

I probably scared them all off when I signed up. I'll just take a seat at a card table back by the kitchen. It'd be worth it for the aroma alone!

Oh hell - I would have loved to have met you and would have normally been there but I am in the UK - trying the new VS flight ATL-MAN - strange it has been DL metal for all these years.

That's mutual, G - if you should have a change in plans, you'll know where to find me - back by the kitchen! BTW - is there any good BBQ to be found in England?
