Vietnam Do September - Halong and Danang

At the London Do last October, we announced a Do in Vietnam we were planning, of which full details are below. Half of the Do is now fully booked - there are no births left on our private charter of Paradise Peak, the most luxurious boat on Ha Long Bay. However, we have had more interest in the boat, so if others were interested, we could try to charter another boat as well - either a day boat or Paradise Privilege. In general, prices are approximately 40% off normally available rates, so this is great deal. Although the boat is sold, you could for example stay in Paradise Suites hotel and join us for a day cruise on the 7th September plus book a couple of excursions through the hotel.

Itinerary

5th September
Transfer from Hanoi (either airport or town) to Halong Bay by VIP van or private transfer. Meet the other attendees at Paradise Suites boutique hotel and enjoy a seafood BBQ on the beach, including your choice of beer, white wine or soft drinks, provided by the hotel. Retire to the bar, enjoy the spa or have an early night in Paradise Suites.

6th September
After a delicious breakfast (we advise eating light to leave room for lunch) transfer to Paradise Peak boat. Meet your butler and settle into your cabin. Then, explore the boat and enjoy a fantastic 3 course lunch. Day program is to be determined, but is likely to include a visit to Vung Vien floating village or exploring Sung Sot cave. As this is a private charter, the aim it to avoid the other tourists as much as possible

7th September
Today, we will transfer to Paradise Explorer day boat as a private charter in order to visit Cat Bat island. Here, after a bicycle or motorbike ride to the local village, we will see the school and explore the local area. You will be escorted by your butler, so can ask any questions with ease. After visiting Cat Ba, lunch will be served on the day boat and we will cruise to dark cave/light cave, where swimming and kayaking is possible in a secluded and calm lagoon.

8th September
The last day on the boat to soak up the final scenes of the amazing limestone karsts of Halong Bay. There's just time for one more excursion after breakfast. We may also arrange tai chi on board in the morning.
After disembarking from the boat, we will transfer back to Hanoi where you can choose to either fly to Danang or take the overnight train. We hope to visit a local charity on route to donate any items you can bring with you (list to be advised nearer the time). The train is safe and very different but can get uncomfortable and is slow. If you fly, you will get an extra night in the Hyatt Regency Danang.

9th September
The group rejoins today and enjoys some R&R on the beautiful beach at Danang. With a choice of accommodation from sharing part of the 3-bed, 3-bath ocean villas with private pool to a room in the hotel, there is an option for those wanting time alone or a more social experience. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dinner (either in the home of a local family or in the villa subject to what we can organise)

10th September
Today, we suggest a day out to the UNESCO World heritage site of Hoi An, a short hotel shuttle ride from the Hyatt. This can also be combined with a trip to the ancient My Son sanctuary. We will hire a tour guide for today, although feel free to explore on your own.

11th September
Today is the final day of the Do. Feel free to extend your stay in Danang or continue exploring Vietnam.
