Question for the organizers... Will we be back in AKL 25th evening? I can get th AKL-NRT flight on the 26th at 0830 and it is a 789 that has lie-flat seats. If I take the flight on the 27th, it will be a 767 with recliner seats which is not very appealing.

The last organised full day is the Sunday 24 May. By late Mondays some people are still at Oz Fests may have semi organised activity, but most travel on the Monday morning or Sunday evening. Events are usually not organised & confirmed until April

Actually, Sunday is likely not going to be a full day of organised activity.

It is seeming that Sunday lunchtime will see that part out.

As we are departing 1pm Monday and I wont get To market To Market on a Turbo Prop (Q300)¹ we will be leaving then, staying in Auckland Sunday evening.

¹ BTW, it's can be a lovely flight down the East coast with lots of island views if it's clear enough (Northbound tend to head inland/west coast).

While not sure I could make it, thought folks might be interested in this article from this weekend’s NY Times:

Mr Falconea and I will be there.

A post in this year's OzFest thread will let other regulars know it is on - I only spotted this thread by chance. Haven't had much time lately for FT. :+<

Very much inclusive. I've been to a few of these events before and generally the male/female split is pretty equal. Please don't let this poor choice of words put you off coming - as we'd love to have you there!

crankychick has to be back at work on Monday morning, so we'll be leaving Sunday night/early Monday morning - I think most participants will be flying/driving/bussing out Sunday afternoon-evening.

We're still working on the exact plans, but it seems likely the KiwiOzFest Bus will be returning to Auckland on Monday AM.

Northland isn't very wide - you can generally see both coasts from in the air.

Yes that is the usual deal ... most folks are gone by late Sunday.

Not sure if there are evening flights to oz out of AKL?

He has been following instructions well. ^ My understanding is that he has an excel addict hovering over his shoulder (the management)
Based on history looking to be a final attendance of about 45

Ah, it makes me feel so ancient that this historic phrase evokes nostalgia in me, having listened on the RADIO to it back in the 50s signaling the start of the Memorial Day Indy 500 while younger folks are unaware of it.

Consider me likely, though I've yet to think about routing -- and how many vacation days I'll have available to use.
