In Ireland now, and even NZ wines are biggies in the wine stores here.

Qantas NZ is currently offering decent one way fares from NZ to Australia which some of you may be able to use for your trans Tasman flights.

Any one who is planning way ahead have an idea of when they will be arriving in AKL? I'm looking to be book a one way revenue ticket from CNS.

I was going to change my last AS award segment from to MEL-CNS to MEL-AKL but it seems it will be cheaper and quicker to fly to AKL from CNS than to make my way back to my stop-over point in MEL to rejoin the award ticket

$260USD seems about right, although debating f it will go down closer-in like in the US

Got my return flights all booked. Hopefully everything will stick. Will have to re-evaluate if there are any issues with the NZ 787-9 because i don't want angled business seats. Hopefully any issues will be before my 1K status lapses so i don't have to pay change fees. Got my account balance down to 256 miles left.

May 26 - 23:00 NZ 289 AKL-PVG
May 27 - 16:25 OZ 366 PVG-ICN
May 28 - 10:00 OZ 222 ICN-JFK

Now just have to figure out when to land in NZ and of cours emy other pre-do stuff in MEL and CNS. Jackal was just on a trip to AKL area and went up to the DO locatons. The pics he posted on his facebook account are sweet. Considering they are iphone pics i'm looking forward to how much better it will look in person

Bump.

Just for fun I decided to get a quote to charter a heli from Auckland to bay of islands. Only about $1000 USD per person .I guess I can scratch that off my list.

It is ~130 miles AKL to KKE, further if you do some joy riding around the "bay" when you get there.

I imagine that would use some fuel, hence the price.

May be cheaper to do a joy flight ex-KKE?

... Also, you miss all the fun of the bus... hic

I notice I'm on the confirmed list. Please remove me. Still not sure my flight over is going to work, and haven't been able to find a return flight yet.

Mrs WF has been asked if the weekend conflicts with her annual "girls' quilting weekend". Answer uncertain.

I suspect at least one of us will seriously attempt to find award tickets for the weekend

Happy wandering

Fred

28 Nov: Apparently NZ will take preference to the quilting weekend...
