Hey I'm near MRI!

I just got an email from AS reminding me to check in for my flight...freaked me out a bit as its a KS flight...and then the lightbulb went on...

Discovered the same issues, so I figured I would stop by the PenAir counter to get my BP. They don't do BPs except for same day travel..

On the upside, the agent said we wouldn't have to deal with TSA.

No TSA...but might be something extra due to the visitor...

(Intra AK on AS is 3 checked bags for free, and since AS bag rules *should* apply as its AS coded, it should apply for this KS flight).

My shuttle left me behind because they could not find me. I guess there were 3 places h3 could be and I was checking 2 of them. I just barely made it in time to catch a bus to Anchorage. I would have had to spend another night and likley miss my flight to Dutch. Now I'm getting in at about 8pm. Luckily this company stopped at McKinley princess lodge so we got the amazing mountain views. A little bit of clouds moved in but close to the base so didn't really obstruct the view.

Hope Seat 2A get to see the mountain again today. Wish I could have gotten up earlier to say hello in person before he left on his bus

I'm going to need a drink after I arrive. Anyone game?

Just a heads up that I have switched to the afternoon flight to DUT on Tues.... I'm fighting a cold and wanted to sleep in tomorrow. I've updated the Wiki.

Weather on the Kenai was fabulous this weekend. Spent time in Seward and Homer - and also got good eats both places!

Just landed in ANC a bit ago. Smoking a cigar and wondering what is wrong with you people for living someplace where this is summer.

What time should I get to ANC for the 9:45AM flight?

Alaska Do Day 2--an Alaskan trailer was slowing traffic on the Glenn Highway today. Locals looking to get home at rush hour simply rolled their eyes.

It's not summer. It's fall. The locals are unhappy. This is why the beer here is so good.

As there is no TSA screening, much more than an hour ahead isn't necessary. Baggage cut-off is 40 minutes, though, so don't cut it too close.

Adding a new event to the wiki: Join us Thursday evening for dinner on The Deck at Lake Hood!

We will convene after the arrival of AS 3295, scheduled to arrive 7:45 p.m.

The Deck at Lake Hood is the outdoor seating deck at The Lakefront Hotel (formerly the Millennium Alaska Hotel). It is a favorite outdoor dining spot for Anchorage residents, and a favorite meetup point for flyertalkers due to it's atmospheric location - right on the Lake Hood Seaplane Base - the world's busiest seaplane base.

Come join us! Enjoy dinner from the Alaska themed menu, a great beer list featuring many of Alaska's best microbrews, live music and float plane take offs and landings overhead!

This is conveniently located near the airport - a very easy transfer after arrival from DUT!

my flight is delayed 5 hours so i booked myself on the later flight as well.
