Has anyone found *ANY* saver award space n UA (or any other carrier) to ANC? I'm not seeing any. UA shows zero for all of August and I looked from ORD/SEA/IAH in addition to from EWR-land.

ETA -- found SFO-ANC on the way up but don't expect to find much if anything saver on the return. I still need to add segments to SFO But I bked an award as far as ANC! If I had any AS miles I'd book ANC-DUT ... but alas I have zero. Any chance US miles can be used for the ANC-DUT-ANC legs?

I haven't specifically looked for next summer, but historically, UA space has been pretty easy to get to ANC. That said, I always routed through SEA, and the SEA-ANC flight no longer exists. Maybe space from other hubs is harder to come by.

US isn't a partner of AS's yet, but perhaps as the US-AA merger proceeds, that may change, and AS and US might begin working together. Or AS might not ever deal with US-as-US and just wait for the merger to fully complete and deal with the new, merged entity.

Good question. (Grand Aleutian hotel rates) Haven't given them a call yet- but with award space on the AS/KS wetlease disappearing so quickly, we wanted to secure flights first.
See #27 - called and told that rack rates at Grand Aleutian are $180/225 depending on whether you want the "suite upgrade" (adds fridge and microwave)

No, I took the 2 award seats on #3296 on 9/2 at 3:45 as I'm going to try to get my +1 to go along. Know that it's a late arrival - but worth the shot, and I did set a EF alert for earlier avails.

DENALI VOTE: also for what its worth, my vote would be to do the Denali/Talkeetna excursion for pre-gaming, even if it is perhaps repetitive... Have not been there in a while and then only briefly. Think Talkeetna could be a good (ahem) recreational stop for food and drink.

I'm up for Denali again too. I may consider going up a couple days earlier but would hate to miss the Talkeetna stop If I take the train up. I guess i could split the train ride up into a 2 day thing. It hard to decide though have been top Denali but 1 day in the ark was not enough. Then again i have not been to Valdez.\

Id be curious of there is a way to hit the Back Country lodge and then meet up with the group for the ride out of the park? ON second thought had no idea it was $500 a night (per person)

Ah cool. Not sure how late it lasts- but hope for an early arrival for you.

Still one seat left on the 2nd at saver levels...

I just grabbed the 4:15PM. all 3 were available about 7:30am Eastern. now per EF none on the 1:30. 1 left at 4:15pm and 2 left on 7:30PM

*Edit* just checked again and its down to 1 seat left on the 7:30PM. Hopefully someone in our group grabs it soon.

I checked the 9/3 flights and its down to 1 on the 1:30 so these go really fast.
