Any closer to making a decision for 2015? Are we sure its NZ? Are the dates changing since its a different country?

That reads like an opening for an Aussie to make a Kiwi joke, e.g. on landing in AKL "Welcome to the 1950s."

Second this question. Would like to book for 2015...however I've (re) discovered that Memorial Day (USA) won't work for me work wise. So if an alternate date would be possible, that would be nice.

Like the MLK day for the SIN do, OzFest has revolved around Memorial day since the start.

FWIW, I would be very confident in booking to NZ.

Some FTers from the U.S. count on that Monday off so they don't have to take an extra vacation day. It's traditionally been a travel day home for many from the U.S. Although I'm no longer impacted being retired, I don't think you'd find a lot of support to change the weekend.

Having that Monday off is nice- but I don't get to take anything before that (tired several times- even with a nice set of QF F flights booked )

There was discussion I heard of modifying the date, hence I'm bringing it up.

NZ was confirmed at the last Oz-Fest, and had been flagged some time before that I believe. Just the city left to decide.

And it has always been on Memorial Day as others have said, so very unlikely to change. We have to have some certainties in life!

Yep.

All 11 past OzFests have been Memorial Day as a large chunk of attendees are American .. gee it is even in the TITLE of all 11 threads.

"Memorial Day Weekend"

That weekend is set in cement for 2015. Several folks I know have already locked in tickets for that weekend to NZ.

All we need now is some input from the Kiwi Contingent as to WHICH city they feel it is best held in.

Soon I'll be going off road in one of these off road caravans through the Northern Territory. Exciting!
