Ok, OzBeachBabe and others did endeavour to co-ordinate this for a discount, but it became unmanageable.

Best advice is to check who's coming in on/at the same flight/time and get in touch to see if some sort of share can be arranged.

I also see there are 9 people arriving in a 20 min window on the 22nd. I'll send a few PMs.

Re the ASP transfers, I note there at least 11 of us arriving on QF790 May 23.
It is going to be crowded in row 4 of that 737

Not to mention that of the aircraft operating the 10:30am QF1940 from AYQ to ASP on the Monday with 14 listed OzFest PAX!

Rather than the overpriced shuttle, it may just be cheaper to arrange 4 to a taxi .
I wonder if Alice Springs has maxi-taxis?

Here is a link for taxi companies from the Alice Springs Airport site.

Good call fifa. (Not just a pretty face)

I rang Alice Springs Taxis and they have 2 X 8 seaters and 1 X 10 seater. Cost from the airport to the Doubletree is about $55.

Getting the right number combinations and baggage space is the problem I see.

Being Gold, I could only access Row 8 backwards and my NB wife was Row 20 IIRC. Needless to say, a phone call to QF ensured 8AC.

We are currently:

4JK - QF824 BNE/DRW (763, J)
8AC - QF1939 DRW/ASP (717, Y) Eeek, 2 hrs in Y
8AC - QF1940 AYQ/ASP (717, Y)
3AC - QF722 ASP/ADL (738, J)
3AC - QF656 ADL/BNE (738, J)

I'm sure that someone skilled can plot these on a mock up of seats aboard each plane

If enough of us are interested, could we consider making a group booking on the shuttle? That would ensure there's space available (and maybe there is anyway) and it might save us $5 each ("The first two passengers are $16 each and each additional passenger is just $11").

We've managed to secure seats in Row 20 for ourselves so we at least won't be crowding you at all.

I'm as interested in having a dependable ride into town I can count on as in getting a bargain. Adding in Mr. and Mrs. falconea (Audrey's post above), it looks like 13 of us on that one flight. I'll send some PMs to see who is interested in a "group charter" for our ride.

For Cat207, Cat 207 +1, Mrs QF WP and me it's line ball.

Book Alice Wanderers Tour Doubletree pick up - $16 x 2 + $11 x 2 = $54 (set cost)
Book AS Taxi = ~$55 (only 4 of us, may not need to be 8 seater), but will be full if get normal car (pax as well as luggage)

What do you think Cat207?? Full Taxi v mini-bus?

DoubleTree bus pick up sounds better to me

I could have had 8 EF but opted for 9AC instead. We're both Gold.

We are currently:

9AC QF1940 AYQ-ASP (Y)
3DF QF722 ASP-ADL (J)
3AC QF764 ADL-SYD (J)
3AC QF1525 SYD-CBR (J)

There's going to be a few of us in the ADL lounge, from the look of it!

I am all in favour of shared taxis on arrival in ASP. We'll be carry-on only and perhaps hoping to check in to have time for a quick change and dump bags before the tour.

Otherwise, will our bags be safe left on the bus?

Audrey

QF1940 - We promise not to recline if you promise not to kick the seats
QF722 - we'll have to share a bottle of QF's finest bubbles across the aisle

3AC QF764 ADL-SYD (J)

Thankfully, it'll be big enough for us all and sufficient status members to get in our non-OW USA guests . Will be sad when we break off into respective flights.

It probably depends where you are sitting!

I would normally said 1A & 1C though.
