I had dinner with Chemist and others in LA several times. Nice guy. As tom911 mentioned upthread, Tim was on BRT 9. I hope he shares his wealth of miles, points, and Brooklyn, with other dearly departed Flyertalkers. RIP.
I'm not sure hold old Tim was, but he had to be in his 50's.

I remember meeting Chemist661 at an LAX dinner a few years ago. What a tragic loss to the Flyertalk community.

I am so very sorry to hear of Tim's passing. He fought a very brave battle and my admiration for him was great! I first met Tim at the first Chicago Seminars and, like many others, would run into him occasionally at other FT functions. I was so hoping that we would be able to see him again this year in Chicago but the Great Pilot obviously had other plans for him.

I hope someone can forward a link to this thread to his family. There are very few active FTers about whom I have never heard a bad word, but chemist661 qualified.

I met his wife and her niece at the check-in area at the Chicago Seminars, and she did indeed arrive in tears, but was in the right place to feel close to him as he would have absolutely been there. I remember vividly talking miles and points with him at previous Seminars. Last year he did write some of his thoughts on paper instead of talking, but there was never a problem communicating.
I was so glad to meet his wife and share hugs as she arrived, but I wish I would have known that is who her husband was as I would have loved to tell her myself how kind and inspiring he was.
He was so very interested in miles and points, and I hope he is now indeed flying free.

It's definitely my intent to print out this thread & mail it to her, so Marie can share the condolences w/ family & friends as well as read them herself. I'll also provide a link to the thread.

I can't say I knew Tim or ever met him but based on those emotional tributes he seems like a hell of a guy and I can say Flyertalk was better for his presence and is worse off for his loss.
